My wife and I enjoyed dinner here and had a pretty good meal. I chose the steak and Guinness pie, she chose the lamb. Both were very good and cooked just right. One unexpected pleasure was the band that played traditional Irish folk music. (It was Friday evening) Pleasant staff and a nice pub to just relax, listen to good... More

Great little Irish pub in main centre of Napier - food was plentiful and was warm and cosy watching the rugby one Saturday night. Bonus was the decor - filled with old books and radios my husband was in heaven.

Nice little place to stop in for a drink and lunch. Good fish and chip lunch specials and outdoor seating to enjoy the day. Friendly service, relaxing atmosphere for afternoon break.

The staff here were very attentive and friendly, the beer was great and they have a great selection but the food was not so good. Typical pub food I guess but spoiled our experience.

Nothing bad to say but it is just another overseas Irish themed pub typical of the sort you see anywhere across the globe. service was friendly enough, beer was good and free wifi worked well. Did not try the food but the menu choices looked ok.

Buzzy pub serving a reasonable selection of Irish beers. Food was very good and a local group play live (Irish) music on a Sunday night.

I just came in for a beer and a plate of wedges, well I thought wedges are pretty easy to prepare. I was proved wrong, took a good 15 minutes to come out and the place was empty and they were burnt. Tasted burnt and not nice at all. I didn't eat them. I would rather spend my money else... More

We happened into the Rose while walking in Napier. The Guinness was great and we shared a plate of appetizers. Food was well prepared, not greasy. Nice pub.

Description
A Napier institution right in the heart of Napier has loads of character and is a great place to meet your friends, start your night out or linger over a meal matched with our best range of beers and our fine selection of wines including many local wines. Our menu is a fusion of Kiwi-Irish, well priced and we are well positioned in Hastings Street amongst the major central city shops and hotels, including our own Art Deco Masonic Hotel. The Rose appeals to a broad range of people, young and young at heart, locals and tourists, families, kiwis and international visitors.
