Beautiful gardens and a cost fire outside. Friendly staff. Unfortunately the lunch was very average. Burgers tasty but did not appear to be made on site. More supermarket style as were the ribs and onion rings. Prices were not expensive but we would have preferred to pay a little more for a higher quality of food to support the setting

We visited for dinner on a wet & cold night. Warm atmosphere. Great food. Seafood chowder worth the visit alone but very generous portions, excellent service and we'll definitely be coming back!

Excellent setting. Wonderful service. Food was better than average. My only complaint was receiving only 3 scallops in my $17 entree. They looked and tasted fabulous but I would have expected at least 6 for an entree. Especially when 6 oysters is $14. A bit mean I thought.

As this is our local we go quite often and have never been disappointed with our meal. If looking for a quiet night out then thoroughly recommend.

Food was amazing. Wasn't much of a wait. And surprisingly filling. Staff were very welcoming. Nice evening out with my wife just out of busy Auckland

My wife and 2 daughters dined at the gamekeeper last night, parking was a little confusing to begin with but not really an issue at all. We all loved the ambiance of the restaurant AND as previously mentioned only one staff member running the whole restaurant. what an absolutely amazing!! job she did and that was approximately 8 tables averaging 4... My Duck breast was overcooked and the pavlova was store bought which was also missing the advertised "Passionfruit Coulis". We also had to wait over an hour for dessert as a wedding was being held in another section of the lodge. Other diners enjoyed the Venison and mudcake on offer however it appeared the mudcake was store bought also.

the venue is very nice with some big outdoor seating areas covered and uncovered. I have eaten here before and had great food and wine for Dinner. Today we went for lunch and it was a nice day so we sat in the covered outside area. there were to many flies buzzing around, and the food i had (beef burger)... More

We hadn't been to Gamekeepers before. It is an old dairy factory converted more recently to a restaurant. As you would expect, it has the usual deer heads etc on the walls, the menu tells you the history and it is a bit old fashioned in its furnishings. There was only one staff member acting as waiter / barman, server.... More
