Beautiful, authentic Turkish and Mediterranean food. Good deal for lunch: a completely satisfying plate for just $22 each. Soooo tasty. Would like to come back for dinner if our touring schedule allows. Good natured staff 🙂

This central city cafe was absolutely perfect for celebrating before a show. The menu suited all tastes, the service was quick and so friendly, the food was superb, well-presented and well within budget. We would definitely go back. It is obviously a popular restaurant. Fortunately...we had booked.More
Unbeknownst to us, we had booked our holiday on Chinese New Year and also a music festival so all restaurants in the city were booked out! We were dragging our hangry bodies back to our accommodation when we stumbled over this authentic little Turkish place...tucked around the corner from SkyCity on Victoria St! They happened to have a spare table, lucky us! The food was really wholesome & filling, great prices both food & drinks. We didn't need to wait long; a very relaxed time; not rushed at all. And as it happened to be a Fri night, we had the added treat of a Belly dancer!More
delicious food . great service what more could you want . totally recommend for wonderful flavours we came on a friday night the have a floor show tonight . should be good
Ive been going here for almost 20 years but wont go back now. The cafe was busy but I sat unattended while tables around me were served. So I politely complained, but instead of being assured they would get to me soon, I was abused...and told they were busy and that I was drunk (had just walked from the gym, high only on exercise and water!!!). Poor form.More
It is hard to fine a good Mediterranean restaurant - but this place is fabulous. Great service. It is very authentic looking. Nice cosy not to loud. Clean and tidy. The food ........ It was to die for, we will be back as I love...Mediterranean and this is spot on.More
Picture the scene. You are visiting Auckland for the first time. You’ve read the Trip Advisor reviews in a bid to find something a bit different with great comments. You find just the place and opt for a late lunch. OK you arrive with only...30 mins to go before closing, only to be told that it reopens at 5pm. Somewhat disappointing but remember those great reviews? You return the same day at 7.50 pm. It’s half full so plenty of tables free. Only to be told that the kitchen is closed as “there was no more stock.” Now that is really disappointing.More
Such lovely service. The food was beautiful. My 10yr old who only eats chicken nuggets actually devoured a whole adult meal. It’s was so yummy
WOW. Stunning. Venue is authentic middle eastern. Good service. But the key to a great restaurant is the food- and this was delicious. Super tasty and generous portions. This is a must go to in Auckland. We wish you were in Christchurch ! Thanks
Delicious food, entertainment, great service. Enjoyed the pink haired belly dancer. Lovely good and just a great experience. Reasonable prices.
Found Cafe Midnight Express and decided to give it a go. Like a lot of eateries in Auckland, Midnight Express is close to the Sky Tower. Lovely menu with plenty of options, we were weren't overly hungry after a big lunch and opted for a...shared plate for 2. Tasty Homedale dips with warm Turkish bread, with a bottle of wine really hot the spot. Next thing we know, music starts and a belly dancer starts entertaining the patrons. She was very talented and enthusiastic, encouraging the patrons to have a go. Which I did, I won't be leaving my day job anytime soon. Thank you Midnight Express, we had a great time.More
Horrible. Had a suspicion meal heated in the microwave. Sure enough checked the middle of the portion and it was cold. Soggy texture to vegetables definitely not fresh. Not a lot of cooking going on in the kitchen despite approx 20 patrons in the ‘restaurant’....Definitely overrated.More
I had another nice out here last month and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My waiter was pleasant and helpful, explaining the dishes well. I had the falafels again because they are so well made and come with a fine accompanying salad.
Just off Queen Street this is an excellent little Mediterranean style restaurant with a great menu selection, plenty of indoor seating, friendly service and large portions at a reasonable price. Service was good and our waitperson was very knowledgeable about the menu options.
We had just left the Sky Tower and were looking for a place for lunch when we stumbled on the Midnight Express. It was a quaint, cosy spot with musical instruments decorating the halls. The food was unexpectantly delicious. I got a luncheon special with...chunks of white meat chicken and a tomato sauce. It was accompanied by sticky rice, humus and a salad of greens.More
