I had previously been to this restaurant last year as live out of Auckland and decided to take my daughter in law their again this year. We had several tapas including Patatas Bravas $10, Lamb Croquettes $15, Flamed Goats Cheese $13, Slow Roasted Pork (not dry at all but very succulent) $13 washed down with a very nice bottle of... I quite like tapas since you are able to taste a large variety of items but they tend to be quite small. Came by for lunch and decided to try the slow roasted pork special. Not only do you get a decent bowl full of pork, you also get a whole plate of fried potatos. Really filling and tasty lunch.

I had previously eaten at this restaurant before with a colleague and found the service helpful, speedy and the food amazing. Therefore I decided to have my 30th Birthday Celebrations here. I contacted the restaurant who were so helpful, even offering a set menu as there would be 12 of us. They had reserved an area upstairs for us. The... More

We ordered four tapas before seeing a show. The food came out amazingly fast, which was perfect for us. The "beet and blue" was a taste sensation, and the goats cheese and mushroom dish was also sensational. Unfortunately, the slow cooked pork was a bit dry. However, the flavour was still good, maybe we just got unlucky with a few... More

Hi all, I have been eating only once at this restaurant, during the many visit to the Stables, I has mussels - It is a tricky thing to cook or eat them prepared for you anyway. They can be served tough or just watery and under-cooked and gritty. I had them all, I like mussels almost any way they can... More

Part of the Elliot Stables - several restaurants each with their own dining area or you can eat in the communal area in the middle, El Faro has a good range of tapas at reasonable prices. The wines are well priced as well. The small downstairs dining area is lovely and upstairs, whilst lacking in atmosphere is much quieter, so... More

This is a pretty standard tapas place; they want to sell you kinda boring tapas and a couple of glasses of Estrella or a jug of sangria. It's nice enough as far as it goes, but the food is uninspired and the Stables atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. For those who haven't been there... the Stables is basically... More

We have been here a few times, wanting a great central Auckland tapas experience. not pretentious, not too pricey but with high quality, this place always delivers. if there's a large group, try sitting upstairs on the mezzanine.

We found the Elliot Stables near our hotel, and liked El Faro's menu the most. This Village is a great take on a 'food court'. We had Chick Pea Salad, Pork Shoulder slow-cooked, Squid rings, and Chicken with paprika. Along with some churros. Service was SUPER fast. The sangria was great. Very noisy, and lots of foot traffic, so not... More
