This place has lost it's charm and it's panache. Still a great place for a chocolate lick, but it's lost it's atmosphere. If you want some chocolate though it's nice to go to.

Really expensive and overrated. Had the ice cream sandwich, had stuff all ice cream in it. San churro is way better.

With vats of mixing chocolate reminiscent of Willy Wonka himself, Max Brenner is a chocoholics dream! There are a variety of chocolates to purchase as well as hot and cold drinks and many delicious desserts to try. Friendly and prompt service. Yummo!!

So, I love Max Brenner. The chocolate licks are awesome and in winter, the hug mugs with a mocha are yummy. This time, we had various cold drinks and they were delicious too. The 80s milkshake was a hit with my wife. The main reason I wanted to write a review this time is more about the staff. They were... More

Nothing much to say about Max Brenner other than they've got the best chocolate pizza and fondue. They maintain the same consistency when making their pizzas and it always gets me wanting more everytime I visit. Tried several other dishes and drinks and 'twas all amazing.

I am a big fan of chocolate, I love chocolate to be honest, but this place made me feel a bit disappointed and kind of fell short. Went in on a weekday for a chocolate hit, took some time to find the place as it is on the second floor in a galleria. Went in to make an order but... More

My sister took took me there for a treat and we had an amazing time. Their menu is quite interesting and deliciously chocolaty. We went to the one at Water-gardens. Will have to try more of their items

If you really want chocolate you should go here, it's just not that they have it, it's the fact that it's so good you want to go everyday. It also gives it the perfect touch with their milkshakes, they also have a great variety and the service is excellent.

It was crowded and there were a few empty but dirty tables, which we took to be a good sign.. We were unfortunately a little wrong on both.. Mm had a chocolate milkshake which lacked flavour, the waffles were nothing special and not much to say about the squirting of chocolate sauce, but the strawberries were nice.. Hot chocolates were... Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
