Absolutely enjoyed this restaurant. We'd never done a Japanese stone grill but it was a fun experience. We were reading the menu outside when one of the friendly staff members came out to explain the concept. The staff were very attentive, helpful and efficient. The food was delicious and came out in well timed intervals. We had the #2 banquet... More

Always visit this place when I am in town. Good for a romantic night out or with friends and colleagues. Stone Grills are awesome. Food is fresh and their mid week deals are really great value! Service is always friendly and prompt.

good food, nice atmosphere- arrived on my own at 9pm after walking around to find something inviting but not intimidating- staff friendly and attentive - had miso and stone grilled prawns and scallops - cooking your own food a good option for the solo diner! very happy to have ended up here

Took my partner for a night out on the town so we started off with dinner and a few drinks here We both liked the food although it was a little overpriced, the beef and the seafood were of good quality and found the service fast and quite friendly Wouldn't go here often as it's expensive

This place is good but overpriced. Seating is crowded. The novelty wears off after a couple of visits

We were back in Melbourne for a wedding and I must admit I would always find time to come back to visit this unique stone grill restaurant. We have been back so many times with friends, families for many years and the food are truly amazing. The type of meat and the home-made sauce were very good. Most importantly as... More

We have been here so many times because the food does not disappoint, we can always get a booking and our entire family enjoy themselves. On this visit my husband and enjoyed the lunch special while my 6 year old had the dumplings and then ate half of my steak. It was delicious as always and a fun environment where... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
