We stumbled on this great little bar by accident on Friday night and lucked into their awesome happy hour special - beers $5 and glass of bubbles $5! They also had $10 espresso martinis and if you're a fan of those you know what a good deal that is! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good service - we already had dinner... More

Two colleagues based in Town Hall suggested we have a lunch meeting here at midday. No body did their research! Standing outside they opened right at midday, with just one delightful young waitress. this is not a meeting venue, the lighting is dim and they prefer louder music. However it all worked out. She turned the music down, we found... More

Booked at 5:30 for dinner before a show. We were made to feel like a total inconvenience by the waitress. Food was ok. We won't be back.

A nice little restaurant in the heart of Melbourne with good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Service and food was good. A little funky in the atmosphere.

Popped in here for dinner before the theatre, and loved it. There were 3 of us and we shared a mix of tapas which included scallops, patatas bravas, eggplant chips and saganaki. Delicious. Great standard menu with lots of specials on the board. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would advise you to book because it is a very small restaurant,... More

A bit pricey, having said that I have always enjoyed the food, drinks and overall experience. Great place to go if you are visiting Melbourne and want a quiet night.

I just stumbled across this little gem. I had walked past and thought it was just a bar. How wrong was I. They do a fabulous breakfast, great coffee and the staff couldn't do enough to help.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
