I really needed some Gelato after being abroad for more than 1 year. It didn't let me down. The Spanish girl is really helpful and I had a nice little chat with her. I will be back. For sure ;)

Love the cake. Environment is ok but no service. I got the orange cake fine-in and take away. Will be back for the cake tho.

A must visit institution in Melbourne. Come for great coffee, huge range of cakes or sweets and some great snacks, the Italian way. The layout and buzz is electrifying and the range is vast. Even pick up a birthday cake.

I ordered oblivion heated with ice cream. It's kind of chocolate cake with melted chocolate inside, served in a cup ( good looking presentation). So delicious and not too sweat. The ice cream is definitely adding good taste at the end.

I usually have my lunch at the sports bar twice a week with cold iced beer. Service at sports bar was a shocker 18 months ago. Today, the staffs a different new ball game. Excellent service, talkative engaging in conversations & polite. Keep up the good work sports bar. In the restaurant for Monday's lunch. I was being looked after... More

No matter what time of year or season Brunetti is always full of people buying and eating food. Lots of patrons inside and out. This time around we had antipasto plates, pizza and dessert (one of the many they have). Even had their recent silver and gold medal gelato (yum!!!). Can't fault the service, staff or food. It may have... More

This review could be considered hopelessly biased as Brunetti has been part of my life since it was little more than a hole in the wall around the corner. It's become bigger and flashier over the years yet somehow still retains a wonderful local Italian flavour, even if its cast of raffish characters is perhaps not as numerous as in... More

We had a wonderful and enjoyable time at this place. The coffee was great and the ice-cream was good! The tarimisu and award winning orange cake were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was spacious and upclass. Clean Toilet facilities available.

Staying in Lygon Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
