We had read good things about this place so decided to try it for lunch one Sunday. Service was extremely slow, music was too loud and good was average as far as dumplings go. Prices were reasonable but we won't be going back there.

We had dinner here after a movie in the Jam Factory. Our daughter's inlaws come here for a long time and know well what to order. The Chinese broccoli, the dumplings with prawns, the duck and the chicken were amazing. They also serve nice Tea's with the food. Good experience ! They will been closed for a while for transformations.

What a fabulous place for dumplings after a movie at The Jam Factory. A great selection backed up by wonderful service. Highly recommended.

A good friend and I had lunch here and had a feast of dumplings. They were divine, particularly liked the duck and prawn ones. The atmosphere is very casual the service is reasonably good but the dumplings are to die for. Highly recommended.

The best dumplings I've ever had. Definitely must try. We ordered a few other things such as the sticky honey pork ribs, salt and pepper calamari and chicken fried noodles. They weren't bad but I've had better. Overall, i would definitely return and have some amazing dumplings.

The dumpling signage and pleasant facade attracted us to the venue. We ordered various dumplings, a dumpling salad (largely spinach leafs) and some spring rolls. The spring rolls were fine but the dumplings were so disappointing for a restaurant heavenly promoting them. We ordered the soup dumplings but all of them had burst before they were eaten (tragic), the chicken... More

Well..... highly recommended by my friend as having fantastic food. It does! Service? Could not have had less staff to take care of people. Tables not cleared so we couldn't sit down. Then when we finally sat there were 2 tables not cleared for the entire duration of our meal! We waited too long for everything. Staff actually running past... More

I came her with 17 others for a granddaughter's birthday dinner. Very nice atmosphere. Helpful, friendly and attentive staff. We had arranged a $35/head dinner as it would be impossible for all of us to order separately. The food came steadily and I ate far too much. All the quality was good EXCEPT the calamari tentacles which were tough. Probably... More

This is a buzzy little place that does an excellent yum cha. Of course there are lots of variations of tea but that's not my bag. A light beer is an excellent companion to the meal. Whilst busy, you can have a good conversation. My favorites are the ginger press and salted calamari , but there is something for everyone.

Shop all along Chapel Street or at Prahran Market and take a break here. This Branch feels more well organised than the City one we frequent because the staff here are extremely attentive and friendly even though it is often packed to the rafters in here. A westernised menu will see a hybrid crowd of Asian and western diners with... More

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
