We've been to Rice Paper twice now and it never disappoints! The portions are large and reasonably priced. For two drinks, two mains and an entree it cost $36. Delicious food and great atmosphere, definitely worth a visit!

This little cafe can sometimes be overlooked as its a few doors away from the more famous Mekong vietnamese restaurant. Do try the soft shell crab noodle and the vietnamese wraps which are really delicious. Prices are similar to the other cafes in Swanston Street . Selection are the usual vietnamese fare.

We stumbled on this little restaurant. It was a warm night and sat outside and watched the world go by. Soft shell crab as an entree was easy to share and a good serving for the price. The outstanding dish was chicken Saigon curry. One of the best curries, not hot but all the spices shone. Good serve of rice... More

We we're excited to try this restaurant after reading so many positive reviews but I'm sorry to say we were disappointed. We started off with spring rolls. They were bland and the only tasty thing in the dish was the dipping sauce. I opted for pork meatball with noodles and my husband got a mixture of different meats with noodles.... More

Very good food and very good value for money. It is very fast paced and the interior isn't too nice but the staff are helpful and the food is very good. Definitely worth a visit.

We went there for the first time on the New Year's day and I tried my favourite benchmark Vietnamese dish - Special Pork chop on broken rice. It was spot on, very delicious. Probably the best one I have. The other dish, Coriander baked fish on rice that my dad had was also very delicious. The other item worth mentioning... More

Whenever I head to Melbourne, I have to have my obligatory Phõ. My go to place is Rice Paper. I know Mekhong is a place that tourist will flock to, but that place being crowded, messy and kinda unhygienic with rude servers is a place I wanna avoid. Rice Paper on the other hand is just next to that dirty... More

Excellent genuine Vietnamese street food. Great flavours at a great price. We ate on the street which had a great vibe for Xmas night. Very good value and extremely fast service. I'd visit again at the drop of a hat.

Thank Brent S

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
