The decor is really cool and as soon as you walk in you know it's going to be fun. Dim lighting and an intimate atmosphere. Great staff who really make an effort to ensure you have a great time. Cocktails are well made and good value. Tapas menu is basic but tasty. Can't wait to come back on a Thursday... More

Worst most over rated cocktail bar in Melbourne. Bad service and worse drinks; go somewhere else!!! Needs a drinks review...

Called in here for a pre dinner drink on a Friday night but were still able to get a table out on Hardware Lane. Service was quick and friendly and the music was a great mix of new and old. Drinks are a little expensive but it's a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

You head down the stairs into a red dimly lit Chinese themed restaurant. There were a lot of tables of women here who seemed to be enjoying the selection of cocktails. I found the lamb ribs very tough and fatty but most of the other selections were fine.

Easily one of my favourite bars in melbourne and has been for a number of years. Firstly the bartenders are top notch, in all my years i have never been served a bad cocktail and i have had plenty, their service is also top notch. The music is always on point, quality djs, amazing band on the thursday night.

Great cocktails and interesting bar with great ambiance and service. Managed to catch a live jazz show on Tuesday night. Overall great experience. Food looked overpriced so we didn't bother.

I love this place. The moment you walk downstairs you are immediately thrown onto the set of big trouble in little China! It's dark and moody and there was a jazz singer. Our server was lovely. The tea infused cocktails are STRONG but amazing. Great spot to hang out on a cold night.

The style of the bar is great for small groups to be able to talk to each other and have a small space to yourself. The service greatly depends on the number of patrons in the establishment, when we first arrived the attention of the wait staff was good but after the place got a little fuller getting table service... What a great spot for meeting people before heading out. Down in a basement with intimate atmosphere and great decor. Didn't try the tapas this time. Has a big selection of cocktails. Only minus is that there is only a selection of 2 beers. We'll be back next time we're in Melbourne.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
