Stumbled across this restaurant and so glad we did!! Every aspect of our visit was perfect: from the service through to the food and the ambience! The servers were excellent at understanding and catering for my intolerances (lactose and gluten). Could not recommend more!!

Visited with my husband and son after previously eating here 1 year ago. We were all looking forward to enjoying the delicious food especially the Yorkshire puddings. Unfortunately the Yorkshire puddings were very disappointing on this visit, very burnt and dry. We advised the extremely...More

I went with my boyfriend, without knowing much about the restaurant and it was simply the most fine and delicious dinner I’ve ever had. We tried different things and every single plate was exquisite and unique. On top of that, we got the best service...More

The positives - the food was decent, wine was nice, and one of our waiters was very attentive. The negatives - half way through our meal a small mouse scurried across the restaurant floor near our table. We notified the waiter who seemed shocked however...More

We were invited to a professional "Christmas do" at Papa Goose, and the menu was distributed with the invitation. It was both eclectic and interesting. Getting to the venue, and going upstairs to meet with my colleagues, I was impressed by the decor, and more...More

Let me start with the bread; unforgettable, sensational and the butter quite obviously house-made. Worth going for the bread and butter alone! Loved the Chicken Liver Pate - best I have had in many years. Salt and Pepper Squid was delicious. Did I mention the...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Description
We’ve had a small change at Papa Goose. We’ve relaxed the menu and given the dining room a nip and a tuck and can’t wait for you to come and try it. We’ve had chef Bryce Bernhardt running the kitchen for a while now. Bryce came to us after being a sous chef at Church Street Enoteca for three years and chef/co-owner at North Fitzroy’s Jorg and by Jorg @ Narkoojee winery. He has worked with Italian flavours and techniques his whole career and brought this experience to us at Papa Goose. The introduction of more dishes to share made us realise we wanted to give the logo and dining room a new look, too. Think stretched mozzarella with beef tomato, basil and pea oil, and braised octopus with pepperoncini sauce, barbecued squid and lovage; there are part of the ‘Small Plates’ on the menu. But never fear! Our ‘Modern British Fare’ take on the menu will still be there for our regular customers.
