Hardware Lane is always a great place for lunch in Melbourne - great variety and competitive prices. Today, we enjoyed best fish and chips ever: fresh flathead cooked in a very light beer batter, fat chips and a super fresh green salad. We live on a beach and eat a lot of flathead: Triim served up the best we've ever... More

Have been coming here for breakfast every time we are in Melbourne. Service is wonderful, the staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was great as usual.

In a five-week visit to Australia and New Zealand, dinner at Triim was the worst we experienced. The restaurant is in a fun-filled pedestrian alley of eating places with outdoor seating. On a Friday evening, the atmosphere is more than noisy, it's rowdy and is a very unpleasant place to be unless you're drunk. Triim was one of the few... More

Been there with my family and boyfriend just because we were wondering around and didn't know where to go. The prices from the board looked good but compared to other cafes in Melbourne the portions were small and the food was not good. Nobody was really happy with what we had. I had a SMALL bowl of beans with 2... More

Booked for 19 people, the owner's and staff couldn't have been more helpful! Food was amazing, the drinks flowed and the service was friendly and great. All done to a budget and catered for all tastes in our group. Will be back for sure.

Very disappointing. No apologies for the very slow service. The food ok. The waitress who served the food tried to make good, however the damage was done.

Had the Eggs Florentine with side of avo & hash brown - nice & tasty. Service was good, and staff friendly. Coffee was OK. Crossiant was a little over greasy, but still tasty enough. I would go again.

Me and my partner Tom stopped at triim for breakfast as menu sounded pretty solid. We both ordered from the house specialties menu and we reasonably underwhelmed. Staff were friendly but food is pretty average. Just not up to the higher standard of some of the other restaurants in the area. Ok if you're looking for something quick :)

Thank Tash S

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
