Interesting place to visit and be shown around the various tanks / stages in the life cycle of the Marron. Understand it can take 3 - 4 years for the Marron to mature and reach your dinner plate. There is also a winery on the farm and an opportunity to purchase after tasting.

We had read such great things about this place so made a special detour to visit. I couldn't wait to try the local specialty! So when we arrived at 3pm and were told that the only thing available was coffee and cake, I was devastated. We double checked the flyer and the opening hours are apparently til 4.30pm (no mention... After a fun morning in Flinders National Park, we stopped for a tour of a Marron farm, followed by a delicious lunch of chicken pesto linguini accompanied by a Two Wheelers wine. Interesting tour of the marron tanks, with different sizes of marrons. Friendly staff-nice place to visit..

We checked out the marron tanks first with an interesting and personal explanation. Tasted the wines (loved the whites particularly) before having lunch. Bought a bottle to go with the lunch. Food was tasty and fresh. Everyone was friendly. Service quick. A real country experience.

The Marron Café is indeed a nice place for lunch in the middle of the island. Our meal, the "Poacher's Platter", was tasty enough with good variety but at a steep price. The grilled Marron's are good, but nothing we hadn't tasted with good ole Louisiana crawdads, It was a pleasant respite after a morning on the beaches at Flinder's... More

we took a chance and visited the Marron Farm and Two Wheeler wines. We were shown how the Marron are kept, all the different sizes and explained all about them, then we had a wine tasting and a tasting of different sauces. After this wonderful experience we went into the restaurant for the most delicious meal. I had never tasted... More

Growing tanks. Fascinated to learn about the whole of process involved in growing and farming these quite amazing creatures. They grow quite large from teeny tiny little critters. But the blue variety really caught our attention. They're double recessive for the colour which kinda makes them like human redheads!! Cafe Sounds awful to say that we then went into their... More
