My wife and I were recently in Port Douglas, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We wanted a night to remember. Ah boy we were not disappointed. This has gone down as a once in a lifetime experience. Well hopefully not. From the moment we walked in we were in amasement of our surroundings. An open air restaurant. With the odd... More

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary here on the Australia Day long weekend. The food, service and experience was all excellent. We chose the 5 course running meal and we were not disappointed. A must for a special experience when visiting Port Douglas.

The restaurant bills itself as fine dining in Port Douglas and I must say it delivers on every level. Cheap it is not with the setting in open air akin to the rain forest, but with a canopy that can be pulled across in the event of rain. Service was attentive, but not "in your face". The food was presented... More

As you walk up the beautifully lit path you feel excited about your evening then you come to a sign that should say "please wait to be seated" but is easily mistaken and you have to make your way to the reception desk to be greeted. Unfortunately last nights hosts welcoming was not so warming. Thankfully the wait staff are... More

Dear Kmurphy007 We are happy that you enjoyed your experience at Nautilus. If you had read our sign at the entrance, it clearly states "please proceed to reception", not sure why you expect that the sign should say "please wait to be seated", there are obvious health & safety reasons why we don`t get people to wait at the top... We were recommended this restaurant by friends, who go there often. The restaurant is set in beautiful rainforest surroundings which is a wonderful experience in itself. Top notch service by the wait staff plus a nice variety of delicious meals were presented to our group. I had the beef which was sensational! Would recommend for both the fine dining experience... The setting, atmosphere and staff at Nautilus compliment the outstanding food, cocktails and wine. The price is reflective of the high quality so a great place to go for a special occasion. By far our best dining experience in Port Douglas and any where else to date. The only fault was the lack of chilli with their signature coral trout.... More

We had eaten at Nautilus about 18 years previously so this was a lovely return visit. The chairs are new but the rainforest setting is still stunning - especially when it becomes dark and the candle lamps come on. Service was generally good and very polished, but a bit neglectful at times - possibly because it was a very busy... More

Family of four Had the degustation and it was great Magical setting in the trees The evening was made all the better by our waiter (Portugese gentleman) who was very knowledgeable about the menu and just formal enough without being stuffy or intimidating He was particularly nice to my daughter showing her a magic trick! It was a nice touch... More

Lovely restaurant with good food. Reception was a bit pompous though service was good. Major disappointment was our table. Despite booking 2 days previously , our table was on the lounge deck with no access to the wonderful atmosphere of the main dining area. Left with the sensation that we paid a lot for a rather average experience.

Dear DocrobScotland, Each one of our area has a different feel and each and everyone of our customers has a different perception. Personally, at this time of the year I rather seat in the canopy lounge as is the coolest one and there is a better air flow. However, as we do on any given night, if a customers asks... More

I had the most wonderful evenings here starting with cocktails. The setting, service and food were faultless. It's ideal for a special occasion but make sure you prepare yourself for mozzies ;-) Our waiter was very obliging and had some insect repellent which was needed! Looking forward to going back again January 2016.
