We returned to the Iron Bar on our latest trip back to Port Douglas - this time only for the Cane Toad Races (nightly at 8:00pm). We arrived around 7:30pm - paid the $5 per person entry to the bartender and received our tickets. Got...More

Although we have visited Port Douglas for more than 20 years this was the first time we had eaten here. The food was disappointing and the service was poor.

Had really good drink prices of $5 a Schooner during the day, just kept too busy but would have loved to see the toad racing from 2000pm at night but seemed to be always sold out!!!

Bargain hey, and even better because they a re tasty and super chilled beers! And yes, you do need to get in early to get a ticket to the toad arena...especially during the school holidays X

My husband and I got the steak specials and I was unfortunately disappointed. The steak was dry and even though we order well done (not my preference but being pregnant I don’t have a choice) it was super well done. I’ve made well done steaks...More

Thank you for your review-yes, to clarify for fellow readers, the Early Diners Special Steak is not the absolute premium quality cut-the meal is designed to meet the needs of budget-conscious early diners, before our full range of premium steakhouse meal options commences for dinner...More

Visited here twice. The service was slow during the night when it's super busy, but that can be expected from a restaurant that has a large number of tourists and locals rushing to the cane toad races. During the day, however, the service was fantastic,...More

Thank you Adam, the IronBar is certainly fast-paced during cool holidays before the cane toad races start....and lovely and calm by day....

There was zero care or attention in service, food quality or ambience...so many other choices in Port Douglas with far better quality to choose from, complacency and arrogance to competition may be their downfall. Would not recommend🤪

Found this via trip advisor and the kids loved it and felt it was a spot we would all come back too- great steak, burgers, barramundi fish and chips, great beer and alcohol... most importantly fun atmosphere and great staff. Thank you!

Have walked past many times and never visited but tonight we decided to try. We were very, very pleasantly surprised with service, food quality & speed of service. Would highly recommend for a pub meal.

Spent the afternoon here in the upstairs bar to watch the AFL grand final. Couldn’t help but notice how attentive and efficient the guy working behind the bar was. He kept an eye on everyone and made sure they had drinks and all their needs...More

Hi Grace, while the IronBar is a steakhouse, there are salads on the menu, and dishes that are readily adaptable to vegan requirements and preferences. You can take a look at the menu on their website, and ask your waiter... More

Whether you’re in town for a wedding, a work-do, or a roadtrip north, no self-respecting blow-in could stake their claim on this beachside village without having tackled a T-bone, kissed a canetoad, or mislaid hours on the dance floor at the IronBar. Quite frankly, you haven’t been to Port Douglas if you haven’t been to the IronBar. The IronBar is pretty much synonymous with “ripper of a good time”, whether as a restaurant, bar, state-of-the-art gaming lounge or mecca for late night shenanigans. By day, a popular dining destination, the IronBar’s steakhouse menu features a lip smacking range of your favourite Aussie pub eats. An esky-cool bar provides welcome relief from the tropics, with a range of Australian and imported beers. Expect the unexpected after dinner, as the IronBar transforms into a battleground for the Far North’s most virulent pest-hello cane toad racing! Retreat to the cool of upstairs' sports bar and gaming lounge till the wee hours or dance the night away!
