We ate at Matsuri several times while in Cairns. I would suggest you eat there early as it gets crowded later in the evening. Eat inside or outside, the food is very good..

Loved this place and we were so pleased that we literally stumbled on it. Japanese no frill food at it's best. The ramen is the best we've tasted for a while. Excellent value, try it.

With so many restaurants in Cairns, it can be hard to find little gems. Matsuri is certainly a hidden gem. Positioned near the Night Market, we stumbled across it by accident. We all loved the good and the tempura was to die for. Nothing fancy, just authentic Japanese with a twist.

Had the Katsu and upgraded to a set which had rice and miso soup. Katsu comes with a side salad and noodles without the set. Staff were very friendly, atmosphere is great and the food was delicious! This would have to be one of the best Japanese restaurants I have had in Australia, very much enjoyed my experience and left... More

Cute place, cozy and clean with lots of authentic Japanese decor which I adore. Had the eel bowl and karaage ramen. Not bad but eel bowl rice could've been so much more quality and more flavour with the ramen broth.

This little gem is located just near the entrance to the night markets on Abbott St. The interior is very casual and welcoming. We took two children, it's very family friendly with kids crockery and cutlery. It can be a bit challenging understanding exactly what you are ordering as the menu is not clear. It is not cheap but the... More

Was actually heading to another Japanese restaurant when I passed this one, I saw that they made Katsu-Don and I was sold. Went in a friendly staff greeted us and we ordered. I also tried the home made gyoza (dumpling) and that was also delicious. Don't walk past it ! Very flavour some meals at good prices.

Quality- excellent. Flavour-excellent. That about sums it up. Set like a little Japenese pub, this very nice resteraunt is in the centre of town is open only for lunch and dinner. It may be a little on the expensive side for most tastes but you get value for money. Very charming staff with very polite wait staff, you will leave full and... More

What a wonderful relaxed atmosphere for dinner. The staff are out standing, the Japanese food is wonderful and of the hugest quality. Try the curry awesome.
