This is my favourite place to get katsu curry in Brisbane. It is pretty damn good. You can order it spicy (there are different levels of spiciness - which really corresponds to how much chilli powder and chilli flakes they put in it - don't worry, they don't mix it in, it is just put on the top of the... Fast service, friendly staff and generous food portion. Had the katsu curry and love it. You can even choose your preferred spice level. There's also chili flakes at the side if you would want to add more :).

Note: this restaurant has moved from the Elizabeth Arcade to 73 Mary Street, (Brisbane)! Met some colleagues there for lunch during the week. Kadoya has for many years been my favourite place for cheap & simple japanese food, and nothing has changed with their recent move. The same stools & tables, and the same good tucker. Don't expect anything fancy... More

This place used to be better a few years back. Or perhaps I ordered the wrong meal. The team members, however, were as caring as ever taking note of little things to ensure an enjoyable experience.

Good filling lunch surrounded by Asian diners, also older patrons ie not just 'cheapskate uni students'. Value for money - food served hot and tasty.

Ended up getting diarrhoea from my meal then read article highlighting breaches to health faced by kadoya due to hygiene practices. I think the mouse trap in the kitchen is a big clue to stay away...Big pity though because the food tasted great.. But suffered later..

Came here after reading some great reviews about the place. Was kinda shocked to see how small the shop is but dont let the size fool you. The place gets jam pack during lunch hours. I had the eel and egg rice which was really good. My boyfriend tried the udon which in my opinion was so so, but then... More

I've had lunch here a few times and th he service has always been quick and good. The staff are nice and the food good and very reasonably priced. The katsu curries are great and VERY hot, not that I mind. You can get a selection of other Japanese dishes too, bento boxes etc etc. I'll go back again.

Thank John H
