I celebrated my 21st birthday in the beautiful wine cellar, a private function room located downstairs. The dining experience was unique for all my family and friends, as we were served an authentic, delicious 4 course Italian menu. The aged aesthetics of the building attracted...More

Second visit was as good as the first. The food is amazing. The service is fabulous. The wine was unknown to me, but chose a white wine on recommendation from the staff. It was excellent.

We ate at the private room downstairs which seems to accommodate at least 40 which would be great for birthdays and functions. All courses were excellent - I especially loved the baked potatoes, and I very rarely eat potatoes but these were divine. Enjoyed entree,...More

We are happy to have become Enoteca regulars. The food never fails to impress. The wine list is even better. Not being too familiar with Italian wines, the extensive list could be daunting if not for the staff's knowledge of, & passion for the wines....More

I had the spanner crab pasta; loaded with garlic but very tasty! My boyfriend had the truffle gnocchi- he’s a big truffle fan and loved every bite! Unfortunately no room for dessert, but we will be back.

This is my favourite Italian restaurant in Brisbane. Went for my birthday and again they didn’t disappoint. The gnocchi is outstanding! Staff are lovely and welcoming too.

The food here is always delicious and never disappoints. Points taken off as our waitress was quite rude in her attitude and tarnished the atmosphere of our night. I'm reluctant to return because of this type of service, as a great night out has as...More

Guenuine Italian. Ask them to pair your wine as their wine collection and knowledge is a highlight. Amatriciana and gnocchi are go to pasta dishes but the risotto is also a winner. You really cant go wrong here and its the most authentic Italian on...More

Hi Craig - we have since heard from another family dining the same night as we did (one of them is a work colleague) that they had the same experience with the waitress that we did. It is a shame that the restaurant avoids... More

1889 Enoteca is part of the heritage listed Moreton Rubber Works building (circa 1889) located in the antique quarter of Woolloongabba. We have incorporated a restaurant & wine bar along with a basement level cellar for private dining & functions for up to 42 people. We offer traditional Roman fare which is made to be enjoyed in our relaxed but sophisticated setting. Our menu showcases the freshest produce available & the pasta & bread that we offer is and made by our chefs on a daily basis which is testament to our commitment to quality. Our wine list is an encyclopedia of artisan producers with a particular focus on natural winemakers. Natural winemaking involves using indigenous yeasts, minimal (if any) chemicals & little technological intervention. Many of these wines are organic, biodynamic & have been picked personally by the owners who have visited the vineyards. Our wines have a story!
