We made a reservation through our hotel with the Red Ochre. Went for dinner here with a party of four. When arriving nobody knew about our reservation, but "luckily" we were accommodated on an outside table. After we had placed drink orders we had to wait for 20 min until they were delivered. The staff seemed to consist of two... More

Not only is the Express Lunch an oxymoron but the food is mediocre- we had the vegetarian risotto which was very oily and the vegetarian patenesca fafelle had far too much onion i it

We had a good dinner (damper with local myrtle butter, barramundi and fettucini) and 2 large local beers. Seated outside under terrace in pleasant surroundings. Very friendly service.

Stay at the Aurora when going through Alice on my way to employment in WA. While overall the meals are quite good they do not treat customers of the hotel well. A work colleague and I had to sit in the outside area in extreme heat as they didn't have room for us......there was no one in the restaurant. We... More

Friendly option serving tasty meals in a town with limited good options. A bit pricy but worth the extra to avoid the ubiquitous burger and chips.

We weren't very hungry so opted for a bush plate and chefs dips. All good but only one croc rib and it must have been a small croc. Wine list reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Didn't eat here on our second night.

The Bush Plate for two wasn't enough food for even one person. It tasted good but was way overpriced. Service was great and steaks are supposed to be excellent according to locals.

Alice Springs doesn't offer a whole lot by way of interesting food. The Red Ochre was a surprise and quite nice. It is a full service restaurant (alcohol, etc) and all was quite good. I had the kangaroo and my wife had a vegetarian selection. We were both very pleased.

Went here because they were doing Kangaroo with pepper-berry (which we had just discovered) which was delicious. The Bushman's Grazing Platter however was a disaster. Smoked kangaroo is not pleasant and the crocodile spare rib was replaced by Arancini which although good was not the Oz Tucker we were after. Despite a large party arriving we were served promptly and... More

The only diner in Australia where I found the above recipe. The ribs tasted good but the marinade used was disappointing.
