First impressions are so often your best gauge. In this case 3 staff were all sitting at different tables at 8pm and no one else was there!! The food was very ordinary apart from the duck curry. There is no atmosphere the decor is non existent... 70's but bad 70's. Cannot recommend at all.

I've not had Vietnamese food since my travels around South East Asia 6 years ago, so when I came across this restaurant when walking through Surry Hills, I knew I wanted to visit. The restaurant is quite small and informal, looking a bit more like someone's sitting room. The waitresses are Vietnamese women, and very friendly. BYO was $2 corkge... More

I expected better than what was presented. A very busy part of Crown Street with plenty of local competition, so I thought good tasty food was on the menu. Unfortunately it did not reach this level, the food was OK, with one dish was overcooked and dry and overall the portions were quite small. I left a little disappointed.

We ate here before trying two top of the tree type restaurants (Quay and O Bar and Dining). We should've just eaten every time at Thanh Long, it serves beautiful tasty food. Will be back!!!

This little shopfront restaurant is a gem. This restaurant has the best Asian pancake of any restaurant I've been to. I have so many favourites here, it is easy to go often without repeating any dish. As well as the pancake, I love the lightly fried eggplant with lemongrass. The salads and stir fries are all good. I like trying... More

This is a very friendly restaurant with good food. BYO makes it cheaper with a bottle shop just nearby towards Cleveland Street. We calamari for a starter - tough and chewy - try something else. The mains however were great. I wanted the lotus leaf salad and asked for a recommedation for an accompaniment - which was deep fried eggplant.... More

We have been coming here for years. Ingredients are fresh, menu is unpretentious. I recommend the Camp Fire Beef, taro spring rolls, Bo Luc Lac (diced beef) and the soft shell crab. Use lots of the herbs and fresh lettuce to roll your own rolls with the camp fire beef, it's delicious. Good value honest food. Service is friendly, Mai... More

This place is so small you could be forgiven for walking past and do not be alarmed by outward appearances as it's not at all appealing with dead flies stuck between the menu and the window! You take your own alcohol and luckily there is an off licence a few doors down and when you walk in you could be... More

We came to the restaurant thanks to the many good reviews, and we not disappointed. Almost missed the restaurant, it was so small and almost hidden ! Keep an eye out if you go. We tool a vietnamese papaya salad, it was fresh, crunchy, tangy, oh so good ! and the price, 13$ for fresh and good vegetables... nam nam... More
