Popped in here for a late lunch. Ordered few tapas to share, a pasta and a paella. Very slow, inattentive service, despite the fact the restaurant was half empty. Didn't like the atmosphere, too dark and very small tables outside. Will most probably not be back.

We have been coming to this cafe for years and always when we do we get the Wild Barramundi! It is always perfect, simple but delicious. We love this place, away from the crowds and the service is always nice and respectful. Perfect place for any time of the year.

We escaped the Sydney heat in the back streets of the Rocks and discovered the Vintage Cafe. The classical guitars and soft singing by the couple in the corner was delightful. Would have stayed longer but our children were tired after a day in the sun. But so glad we tried the tapas!

Just had a pizza which was average and a small bottle of beer for $9 which seemed a lot (I am from the uk) But it was made up by the lovely music by a guitarist who played songs by mark knofler, Eric Clapton other great songs

Popped in here for brunch. It's a nice place with an authentic old feel. It's actually just a bit dilapidated but it gets away with it. The Vintage breakfast was OK, scrambled eggs a bit too buttery and runny, toast wasn't toasted, chorizo wasn't great quality, but bacon was plentiful and nice. On the other hand, the Vegetarian breakfast was... More

This cafe is really quaint - and the location is perfect! Dinner was very good - my husband actually tried a crocodile burger! But the best was the dessert - lemon pie that honestly was 10" high!!!!!! WOW!

Rating is good rather than average but TP doesn't have Good Small cafe, bar, restaurant offering a range of mainly Mediterranean dishes as well as salads. Portions were on healthy side and salad ingredients all very fresh even though we dropped in around 2pm for late lunch. Good service and really nice to have live music in this very small space

The Vintage Cafe has an interesting fusion of historical and modern decor offering a casual laid back atmosphere with good quality food at affordable prices. Only fresh produce is used with emphasis on local Australian seafood, wines, local and imported cheeses. The wine & beer list offers great quality, variety and value for money. A lot of creativity is found in the various dishes, providing a nice contrast between Spanish, Portuguese and Mediterranean food. Served all day, the traditional breakfast portion of the menu offers the Full Vintage Breakfast deal, with bacon, Chorizo, eggs to any taste and toast. For those with a big appetite, the Mediterranean Omelette filled with capsicum, tomato, Spanish onion, mushrooms, herbs and fetta cheese has plenty to get you going. Lunch is filled with options including fresh made to order salads, pizzas, sandwiches and specials of the day. Thu to Sun nights, selection of Paella and Tapas served in traditional clay dishes. What can be more romantic than the delightful sounds of live Bossa Nova & Jazz which can be heard Thu,Fri, Sat & Sun nighst and Sat & Sun noon. If you are looking for somewhere special, private and a local haven, take a stroll to The Vintage Cafe.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
