Having lived in Sydney for 7 years I must have walked past this place hundreds of times yet never visited despite having heard how good it was. Can’t believe that after eventually having a great meal here, it took so long!!! I had reserved a...More

Went there for hubby's birthday. Ordered the most popular home made pasta. It was delicious but it was very overpriced. The wine collection in the house was ordinary and again, overcharged. No BYOD is allowed but staff didn't even bother pairing the wine with food...More

We had a very good and tasty dinner at A Tavola. We sat at the large table and were literally surrounded by Italians! For us that was a good sign. The food was very fresh, prepared with love and well balanced. The wines were a...More

A great restaurant with wonderful and interesting food..the main list is small but a great specials board. Wonderful and edgy wine list full of Italian gems.. ask if you don't know about the wines.

We visited on a Thursday, it wasn’t quite but it is January so it also was full. We waited 25 minutes for our wine, ordered water twice and eventually got it. We waited an hour for pasta and prepped meat and then 15 minutes to...More

We had dinner here and had a good evening in this nice looking Italian restaurant. The bread to start with is a bit to much herbs and the olive oil is spicy (peppers in it) so you loose taste. Starters and mains are good quality...More

We were recommended this restaurant by our AirBnB host. We were lucky to get a seat and were seated at the long table (European style) as you are meant to book. The choice of food is anything but pedestrian. You can go for traditional Italian...More

Quaint little Italian restaurant that felt completely authentic to me when ten of us dined there after taking a Kangarific Tour into the Hunter Valley. We went with the $75 fixed price menu and ate quite well. It all started with baked olives – small,...More

Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney,
Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other
suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and
1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret
passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of
Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues
feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning.
Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small

Do not think It is BYO, but ring to check. This place is more of fine dining therefore fully licensed.

If you're after an individual table I'd recommend booking. I've only ever been as a walk-in and have always been seated on the communal table (Darlinghurst). Whilst I haven't requested an individual table as a walk-in, I... More

A Tavola was established in 2007 in buzzing Darlinghurst on Victoria Street by chef owner Eugenio Maiale. A Tavola quickly earnt a reputation of being one of Sydney's best places to go for authentic Italian pasta. The long marble table is filled with loyal and regular diners - all seduced by the simplicity and honesty of Eugenio's food and especially his love of good pasta.
