Have been upstairs to the main restaurant a couple of times previously, this time had lunch in the bar on street level. Ordered the fish and the sliders. Waitstaff were wonderful, food was fresh and very satisfying. I can't help but think some of the negative reviews are just grudges, or the reviewer got the wrong pub, we loved it.... More

Have eaten here a few times and on a Thursday it's 2 for 1, so this week we had steak and a prawn pasta dish, when they arrived my husbands steak was slightly over for him but he said it was tasty and my face dropped when I saw a pale watery sauce on my prawn and chorizo pasta, however... More

I was at this pub on 26th September for Tranny Bingo, with a group of friends. We won a $100 food voucher with an expirt of 9th October. It suited the group of 5 to meet up on the 29th October to have dinner & use the voucher. Upon ordering steak & pork belly dishes, we were told the voucher... More

Friday night and they cater to 3 or 4 people who want to watch afl. Totally done with this pub. Terrible food and service and expensive, save your money at the Newtown hotel!

We had a lovely lunch; beef pie, brisket roll, butcher's cut (t-bone) and a kid's cheeseburger. Quick, efficient service. I like the room - big, light and airy without feeling like a food court. Good family or friends get together space. Meals were tasty and fresh. Generous portions. The beef pie was delicious. A solid pub meal - not on... More

When I used to live in Newtown, I used to come to the Coopers for one of the best steaks in Sydney. OMG the ribeye was amazing and worth the price. Ordered a couple of steaks over the weekend and unfortunately, not really up to scratch for the price. The steaks were overcooked and the meat, although talked up on... More

We have eaten here up in the roof garden many times and they have always served great pub food with occasional inspired dishes. We tried the new menu on the weekend. Some old favourites like the tapas style small plates remain but new dishes like the wild boar (think pulled pork) papardelle pasta dish and the slow roasted lamb shanks... More

The pub offers great food and good beer - what more could you want from a pub location in Newtown . . ?

Recently had lunch with friends at this restaurant. It was recommended by friends as the steaks, particularly the rib-eye fillet was a draw card for it size and value. Unfortunately they were out of fillet and the staff recommended a Sirloin. It was the worst steak I have ever attempted to eat. It was not cocked as requested and was... More
