We stopped in for a quick dinner before a show at the Opera House. After some truly horrible Chinese food experiences recently, this turned out to be a delightful change. No crispy skin in duck pancakes despite the waiter suggesting it on that, it was tasteless shredded meat. Bland fried rice, lackluster pork and prawns and greasy noodles. Great service apart from the crispy suggestion. Have they changed the chef? Very disappointed and will not bother going back.

Good venue for pre- theatre, concert or opera treat at always stunning Sydney Opera House (5 minute walk from the restaurant). Attentive staff extensive menu all dishes are tasty fresh and shareable... Order a starter followed by a few shared dishes plus rice and jasmine tea. The chili spicy green beans were crunchy and delicious, so too was the Tasmanian... More

We have eaten here before and choose it again for a pre opera meal. Always wise to book. We arrived at 6pm and were seated immediately with menus and the waiter to take a drinks order. The service is efficient and pleasant. The food is excellent. Without rushing we had finished the meal and walked the short distance to the... More

We had looked a several places before our Opera House Tour and decided we would eat supper here on our return. We were sat by the walkway near the entrance so could watch the world go by. We both had the Crab and Sweetcorn Soup which I could have eaten bowl after bowl. I then had a Combination Chow Mein... More

The East is situated on Circular Quay and is great for people watching. It has a buzzy atmosphere due to its location. Food was ok but I think they forgot the pepper on the salt and pepper squid!

For our last night out in Sydney we chose this restaurant for its location and the menu placed outside looked interesting. The maitre de ushered us in, he was all smiles. But from then on it was grim face after grim face, with plates almost thrown down in front of us from the various wait staff. The restaurant was not... More

Yummm. Saw the menu, looked at the number of people dining and decided this was the restaurant to try. It did not fail. A comprehensive extensive menu which pleased all our palates from picky youngsters to 50 +. The Rainbow Beef was divine and our youngsters loved the fresh spring rolls. The staff were quick and polite. I have added... More

Looking over the harbour was lovely as our party of 5 shared beautifully cooked and presented meals. Good value for money with attentive and professional staff.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
