We always try to visit the old Fitzroy if we can when in Sydney. It is a truly authentic old pub with tons of atmosphere and great craft beers.

We sat outside, such a beautiful day. The owner was very informative. Also when we sat down my friend nudged me, the author/playwrite mentioned in the book sat at the table next to us. A very eclectic clientele

Fortunately the restaurants and pubs in the wharf area were very busy so we walked up a couple of blocks and found The Old Fitzroy Hotel. We had just missed some live music, but there was still a great atmosphere with both lots of locals...More
We enjoyed our brief stop at the Fitzroy. Meals from the kitchen looked great and generous. Came for the beer and they had lots of variety, maybe 16 on top or more.
