Been here a few times and the wow taste factor keeps deteriorating. I couldn't stop thinking about my first bfast here and it's steadily been more and more disappointing as I tried different dishes like the burger. Are the trying to tell me not to...More

A really cool place to go for breakfast, they serve outstanding scrambled eggs and the hot cakes look great too. I normally eat here whilst on holiday in Sydney, twice in a row on this occasion. Good service, lovely fresh flowers, a communal table in...More

It’s a while since we’d been to Bill’s for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. Tuesday morning in Kings Cross … others of the best local breakfast places only serve breakfast on weekends, so Bill’s in Darlinghurst was not a hard choice (a ten-minute walk...More

We’ve been for breakfast three times and the coffee, corn fritters, full breakfast, and especially the ricotta pancakes are all very good. Five of us for lunch today: the BLT and wagu burger were good. The paw paw salad was... just paw paw. Tasted like...More

While I enjoyed the food and coffee here I would not return due to the woeful service. Four of us arrived early for our lunch booking on a Monday and it was not busy. However I had to ask for service three times - to...More

Get there before 10AM for a quick wait (it was approx 15 min for us). We loved the hot cakes -- so much that we placed a second order after we gobbled up our first. It's easy to see why this is a hot spot...More

After having the amazing ricotta pancakes at Maialino in New York, I always get excited when I see them on a menu – so guess what I had for breakfast today? While they weren’t as good, they were still amazing and I would highly recommend...More

Went for breakfast. Lovely inside, fantastic coffee, the cold drip was unusual but well worth a try. Never had scrambled eggs like that, very smooth and interesting flavour. The ginger beer was amazing and would certainly have again.

This was our second visit to Bills and we were very disappointed with the lack lustre service....I would have expected much better service considering the prices charged! It was also hot in the cafe, no aircon was on. Food was ok but not great. I...More

Have been going to Bill’s Darlinghurst for past 15 years. Best ricotta hot cakes & sweet corn fritters. When my friends come over from N.Z. on holidays it’s the first cafe we go to, they love it!!! Great coffee & friendly atmosphere.

Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney,
Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other
suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and
1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret
passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of
Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues
feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning.

Bills Darlinghurst, this is where it all began, in 1992. The miniscule kitchen and tiny dining room in one of Darlo's old backstreet pub buildings, serving just a blackboard-menu breakfast and lunch, set the tone for bills still does today. Local by-laws allowed only a few seats - hence the now much-copied communal table where everyone eats together, reading the newspaper or striking up a conversation with the person enjoying scrambled eggs next to them. Today, it's still a simple Sydney corner cafe, serving a menu of bills classics.
