Wanted a light lunch so went to the Fish Shack for fish and chips take away. Having waited a long time we eventually got our order and sat down overlooking the beach . The fish was partially battered and what batter there was , was swimming in oil ( perhaps the batter they are alluding to is how they kill... More

The prices were a little bit expensive but that's understandable considering its location. Good view of the beach along the strip. The food was fine, no problems there but wasn't spectacular either.

We ordered a fish and chips to go and went and ate it down by the beach, it was a nice snack for two to share. Only $12.90 for the Hoki with two large pieces of fish and lots of fries. This was a good deal along a fairly pricey line of restaurants.

Stopped here after body boarding with the family. Good simple battered fish, prawns and squid with oysters on the side. Very fresh and tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. Good choice of beer and wine. No hassles and lovely ocean view over the road.

Go for anything that's fresh fish of the day! The staff is kind, very fast service and the food tastes amazing! Portions are big, price wise great value.Just two minutes walk from the beach itself.

Enjoyed the grilled and battered barramundi, and fried soft shell crabs. The chips/French fries were not what we're used to. Singapore beer on tap and bottles of Perone. Fish and chips cost $2 less if take away!

On a day visit to Manly Beach, you have to have your dose of fish and chips on the beach and despite being vegetarian I went along and tried just chips with mushy peas and curry sauce. The portion size of the sauce for $2 left quite a lot to be desired. That being said, the food was fantastic and... More

I asked for an Australian beer and the wait staff didn't know whether or not they had any. They didn't. The fish serving was quite small but tasty. The fries were also good. $14.90/ order. I'd pick another place, not on the strip.

My wife and I visited this little fish and chippery when visiting Manly whilst staying in Sydney. As we are Scottish we had never had barramundi so we lashed out on grilled for my wife and battered for myself. They were both nicely served and delicious with the best chips that I have ever tasted! We also enjoyed a glass... More

A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
