It is hard to visualize how fresh and light the strawberry watermelon cake is at the Black Star Pastry. It is a visual treat to see the pretty facade, and sheer happiness to savour this cake. We visited the New Town outlet, but found that there was a branch in downtown George Street. Must try this cake if you are... More

Watermelon cake is as good as people say. None of the other cakes are quite as good, but that's hard to beat. Vibe inside shop is cool whey yeah dude hey is that Lou Reed on the stereo and am I singing along as I make the coffee yeah maaaan it is. Pastries are - typically for hipster pastry -... More

When we first stepped into the cafe it looks like any other cafes.Without fail,we ordered the strawberry Watermelon cake. It is fresh and light with the flavourful rose-scented cream and the light crunchy pistachios. The small block of juicy watermelon and the dried rose petals on the top also adds to its appeal. Also worth trying is their well known... More

Cute small cafe with yummy food. Our favourites the lamb pie and mushroom quiche & of course the watermelon cake, divine. Also love the lemon zen cake and caramel panacotta😋 cafe very close to train station. Highly recommend!

Was recommended to try the Strawberry and Watermelon cake. Certainly a very pleasant experience, but not cheap! Also had an almond croissant which was also very enjoyable.,

Overcharged us for our order. Coffee cup size less than generous for the price. After being served, promptly told us they were closing!

Overall good atmosphere. Savoury was good, especially the beer beef pie. Watermelon cake is really nice but the portion has been reduced and the price is very pricey. When busy coffee not that great.

someone recommended to me this cake and it is really nice! is a mixture of rose, watermelon and perhaps some nuts (not sure ..) but due to the great business of this desserts shop, you need to pre order the cake in advance, say 2 -3 days...
