We've occasionally got to this small cafe and we're surprised - very delicious food with teriyaki sauce and fresh sashimi) Quick and cheap! Will come back for sure)

Fresh sushi, always popular for lunch or dinner. Whatever you take, it's great. This is one of these: a hole in a wall with great food. For lunch they have sushi boxes for faster service, still great!

The place is a good choice for people who don't really care about the luxury of a top rated restaurant, but as long as it has a nice menu, good tasty sushi and few simple tables, this is going to conquer you. As it is a very tiny restaurant, it's Perfect for couples or small groups. Try the spicy salmon... More

We happened upon this place, and were met with a line out front. We hesitated, but then were told by the people in front of us that it was well worth the wait. They were right. It's a small venue with only two tables outside, and after waiting for about 20 minutes, we were rewarded with one of those outside... More

Sushi on Stanley is a tiny restaurant with around 10 tables and totally worth a visit. Fortunately we got the last table available, but expect some time to get one depending on the period. Sushi and sashimi were really good, very fresh. Service was also great, fast and efficient! Totally recommended!

I have eaten at Sushi on Stanley for close to ten years now, and while it is good (and cheap), the quality of their food has really slipped recently. Steer clear of the salmon sashimi, they use a really cheap cut of the fish and it's chewy and fatty and awful. This isn't a one-time experience either, I've tried it... More

Every inner-city local has their little black book of places to eat for cheap and cheerful sushi places. I have one in Bondi, another in the CBD and, for that late lunch after a Bridge run or a swim in nearby Cook & Phillip, there's Sushi on Stanley. This place is so tiny it fits less than 30 diners! But... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
