I had a tasty meal and at a reasonable cost that was served promptly . There are many dining options in the area but this is worth a try.

There's no shortage of restaurants around Victoria street, but this spot manages to serve simple food (meatballs with pasta or bread, but also fish/veg options), with a fun and friendly attitude - including the design of logo and menu and the cosy tables on the sidewalk. Probably not the best value in the city, but I'd go there again any... More

As an Italian guy, I found incredible how hard it is to enjoy a good plate of spaghetti when outside of my Country... and "Bootleg" was not an exception. Based on some good reviews read on the Internet I tried this restaurant located close to hotel I was staying, and I must confess that the experience was not good at... More

Lovely local bar ... pick a spot at the counter and enjoy some antipasto and a glass (or three!) of wine. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. My new favourite local!

I have had the pleasure in dining at Bootleg Meatballs on a couple of occasions and every time it gets better and better. Last night I went with the family and we decided to order a few different dishes on the menu. From the delicious salads, to the devilish truffle fries, to the golden crumbed schnitzel, and of course those... More

I'm not usually one to write reviews but felt compelled to do so for this restaurant. The atmosphere was buzzing on Friday night, and the decor was super cool - photos of music icons line the walls as well as a collection of ghetto blasters, I felt like I was in a trendy New York bar. The menu was also... More

We have previously had very pleasant meals at this restaurant, and found that it has been transformed into a specialist meat/fish/chicken/vegi ball place. There are literally hundreds of possible combinations of type of "ball", pasta, polenta, vegetable and sauces which can all be ordered individually as mix and match. Very tasty. For entree the parmesan chips, fried onion rings and sliders... More

I had a great night at Bootleg Meatballs. Love the concept. You build your own dish based on the meatball, sides and sauce you like. I had the classic, beef balls with spaghetti and Napoli sauce. It was totally perfect. It was nice that my vegetarian girlfriend could also be accommodated without feeling like she was a problem, which can... More

These guys have nailed it. I have been to a few different "meatball" resturants but this joint is the real deal. Tried both the Pork & Beef balls. Both great! The side are great as well. Each dish was well balance, cooked and presentented. I could't fault the place. All I can say is just try them you wont be... More

Great to find a place with fresh, healthy salads to accompany the meal. The main were delicious and the sauces that were used on the balls (we had the chicken and the fish balls) were ever so tasty. Napoli and Kale sauce! When I went to pay, i discovered that you could buy the sauce ready bottled to take home!... More

"From the outside, Bootleg Bar is an unobtrusive slip of an establishment a few minutes' walk from Kings Cross's hoo-ha bustle. Inside, the aesthetic is solacing and eye-catching - a New York-style small bar decorated with a cunning mix of industrial fittings, chalkboard panels, discreet lighting and framed photo portraits of famous rockers, hip-hoppers, mods and folk stars. It feels lived-in too. Not because it's drab but because the room's layout - bar tables and stools, followed by booth seating and a small restaurant-like section of tables and chairs in front of the kitchen - is a well-thought-out mix of accessibility and snugness." - Lenny Ann Low, Sydney Morning Herald Born in 2009, Bootleg Bar & Italian Food recalls the feeling of one of those late night treasures in down town New York City and Berlin. A low-lit space with comfy bar stools, booths and tables, perfect for downing local beers, boutique wines, cocktails and snacks at the bar. Chef and owner Rob Gal serves up top notch Italian dishes - luscious, flavoursome and a million miles from mingy portion sizes. A small, but considered menu with daily and seasonal specials boasting generous, heartfelt food of an Italian osteria - all served until late.
