Came here for a special occasion and it was just bad. Meat wasn't cooked properly, service was absolutely horrible.. I actually don't know how they are still in business against the other steak houses in the same area.

We visited this restaurant as a treat and were quite disappointed by the lack of service and enthusiasm. Service was slow and the waitress just kept walking past. It took a good 10 minutes before we got any drinks. The steaks themselves were nice but I ordered mine with a sauce Diane, which i thought is supposed to be a... More

The Cut used to be our cornerstone for family dining when celebrating special family events. We have celebrated a number of family events here and have always enjoyed the service and food. When the son recently wanted to celebrate his birthday he requested The Cut. Not sure what has happened as the service and food was very hit and miss.... More

Had dinner here with some Sydney colleagues. The steak was absolutely magnificent - I had their Signature Upper Cut and it was probably one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Only real criticism would be that the wine was a bit overpriced.

The restaurant. Was able to accommodate us during a recent trip to Sydney, despite only booking an hour or so in advance.I suspect because it was an earlier evening booking. The things that hit you on arrival are a good welcome, and that the place is dark! Sitting at the table the lighting is not strong enough to move the... More

A really solid dining experience, great for a business meeting. Layout conducive to private discussion and staff very professional, perhaps a bit stiff and need to relax a bit. Very attentive to needs and conditions in and outside the restaurant. I love a restaurant that takes the time to offer to take your jacket and in this case umbrella to... More

In a historic cellar of Old Sydney you find a superlative steak house for dinner. The Welcome by a French gentleman was both courteous and professional by seating us in a semi private booth. The menu has never ending choices of cuts from various Australian boutique farmers. Once we had time to study the menus a very well versed waiter... More

Their steaks are super delicious! I had the fillet and my husband the scotch and both were just amazing. The scotch was boosting flavour! For dessert has we the constructed snickers and it was delicious. Will definitely return!

We had a nice steak (standard cut) with an excellent local wine. I can recommend the desserts. We had two of them and both were amazing. The only thing I didn't like is the dark and cold environment of the restaurant. I was sitting close to the door but the curtain in front of the door didn't really help to... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
