I have had meals here on many occasions over the years and it has always been great. I had dinner here for the first time in a few years recently and I thought it might not live up to my recollection, but it did not...More

We called and booked a table with children, upon arrival we were told to leave by the manager Clarence, he believed our children were apparently "noisy". We had just arrived in Canberra travelling for 3 hours, hungry with four children in tow to be kicked...More

If I could give zero I would. When this restaurant says kid friendly it is an absolute lie. We arrived and were asked to leave within minutes because our children were apparently too loud. Wait staff were so rude, I was appalled at some of...More

This up market high quality Turkish restaurant is predictable in every way- but sometimes this is a very good thing. An extensive traditional menu, multiple specials, attentive and fast service with a pleasant interior with views over a courtyard garden make for very pleasant dining....More

Service was excellent and food as usual was superb. We tried some different dishes including the duck shredded and stuffed into a very thin wafer like pastry for one of our entrees. Original and delicious. The trio of ice creams are to die for. The...More

We booked at Ottoman after not being able to get into our original choice. This proved to be a positive, as we had the most beautiful degustation meal. It has been about 3 years since I was last here, and it did not disappoint. Every...More

This was our third visit over a ten year period to this restaurant and it has only improved. This was easily our best visit. We had the scallops, the crispy zucchini flowers filled with goat's fetta and halloumi cheese (what a great, novel combination!), chargrilled...More

What seemed to be a pleasant if rather expensive meal was tainted by both myself and my dining partner suffering illness over the following 24-48 hours. This Canberra institution certainly looks well and the food seemed tasty and fresh on presentation. We will not return.

Ottoman not only has a great building and great atmosphere but it also has an extensive Turkish menu with a sprinkling of local Australian favourites. The Queensland tiger prawns with snow peas was a fantastic main course.

Chef & owner Serif Kaya has been wooing diners at Ottoman Cuisine with his much awarded Turkish food since 1992. Modern day Turkish food is a result of the vast Ottoman Empire, spanning over three continents, with access to many markets & cultures. The menu at the Ottoman Cuisine consists of classic Turkish dishes that have withstood the test of time. There are also the dishes that Serif has created; inspired by his culinary heritage & his new home. The specials of the day bring you the best of the seasonal produce. In the Ottoman tradition, we recommend sharing your dishes in order for you to experience the fantastic range of flavours on offer. Please ask your waiter if you would like to try a tasting menu.
