Hot damn. Where to begin? I visited last month for a birthday meal with my partner Bella. The food - great The service - amazing The ambiance - lit. I'd say it was one of the best birthday meals I've ever had. And I've had...42 of them. Besides the restaurant being inside an old railway station house (which was really cool, I was drowning in history), one of the best parts of the experience was the friendly staff. They were really nice. Special mention to that waitress with brown hair who kept smiling all shift long she was like a lighthouse of good vibes. I hope she stays! We booked a table for a birthday a month in advance and were very much looking forward to the visit. The restaurant is located in a rural area, we came by train, so we arrived 25 minutes before our reservation. Our table was unoccupied, but...instead of a warm welcome, we were received by a very unwelcoming staff member who announced that the cook is not ready, that there is no vase for our flowers, etc. We were hoping to have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine at the bar until our reservation time, but ended up waiting outside in the parking lot because the service was so hostile. We were even thinking of cancelling the whole thing, but decided not to. The food was good and portions were generous, but prices were relatively high. The furnishings could use some work, the menu needs to be spellchecked. Overall it was the worst restaurant experience in 10 years for all 6 of us, mainly due to the poor service.More
