We stayed on our boat in the nearby harbour, looking for a relaxing spot for a drink and dinner. Less than 10 minutes away, we found this lovely place by the water with the perfect sunset. Friendly service by Linda, and the food was nice. Also noted, this facility is being expanded into a boutique hotel, which I guess will be ready very soon.

Nice place with fast service. We got here late on Sunday evening and many of the items were not available. The ones we had were quite ok.

Hi my dear readers! I am back and still alive despite COVID! Today I will write about Rannapaargu - supposedly best restaurant in Hiiumaa, small island in Estonia.
To be honest, it is in a very nice location - sea view, nice and quiet surroundings, so atmosphere is definitely there. Upon entering you are greeted by staff and you really feel welcomed and that something special is about to happen. Sadly, I have to stop positivity here.... as I was moderately hungry I decided to order Salmon a la Hiiumaa accompanied by potato-spinach purée in orange dressing (13 €). It looked quite ok, although I felt that portion is bit on the small side. And about the taste...as I took first bite of salmon, only good thing to say is that skin was reasonably crispy. But it suffered from the lack of seasoning and was bit over-done as well. Very sad. Potato-spinach purèe was OK, but nothing special. I hate to start my reviews after hiatus with this note, but honesty is my policy. I do hope that someone will make notes here... As I tried only one thing here this time I will not give my average score.

👌 Saturday evening on the terrace at the seaside -we did enjoy nice and friendly service, magic view and atmosphere and absolutely delicious food. Creative and beautiful plates.
We had no reservation, but got a super nice table outdoor. Also the dog was warmly welcome 🐩☺️

The only true beach restaurant in Kärdla, and the only one with 50 years of history. And the only one open every day year-round. This establishment also works as a cafe-bar in the evening (limited menu) with a nice pool table, outdoor terrace and a sunset view over the water. And on selected weekends, it turnes into a night club with live acts or resident DJs.
Outside of the "peak season" (i.e. from Midsummer to end of August), Rannapaargu is the best place on the island, hands down.
When ranking this restaurant, I think we should do it justice and compare it to other local Hiiumaa restaurants. And NOT to the ones in Tallinn or Riga.

The food was very over-salted, and when we mentioned it, the chef's decision was to give us a 10 percent "discount" or new dishes would be brought to us. Since we didn't want new surprises, we left and went to eat at another restaurant

Really nice visit after a long sightseeing-day! The main dishes were humble and filling and the "chef's greeting" before the real dishes was a nice touch. :)

I have to be honest..i did not had any hopes for the food when we went there for a late breakfast/lunch. I have heard that the food is avarage but the view is obviously good. We ordered burgers with pulled pork and fries. It tasted really good! Nicely presented. But the best part - before the burgers they brought us a plate with bread and butter and some homemade white bread buns. Well i would have eaten only these white bread buns for the whole meal - they were absoulutely delicious. Whoever made them or bought - very well done ;) So i defenitly reccommend to go - enjoy the beautiful view and if lucky - some good burgers with extra!
One big minus though - we wanted to go again two weeks later on a friday evening - place was closed with no sign out...:(
