We show up a first time but could not get in. You want to make a reservation for this place. We did for our second attempt. What a great time. First location close to beautiful Munster. The room itself is cosy, warming stove in the...middle. But the most important is in the plate. A real festival of taste with fresh and local products. Expect more than the usual swiss fondue. The menu was very refined, the meat absolutely delicious. Will come back.More

Both for lunch (e.g. as a break from x-country skiing - the tracks go practically past the restaurant) and for dinner, this is really a very nice/special restaurant. Everything seems to be made/prepared with local produce and with much creativity/imagination. The lentil soup (lunch) is...hearty and truly delicious. The "topinambour" (Jerusalem artichoke) soup - dinner - is absolutely to write home about! Otherwise, dishes with roebuck filet wrapped in cabbage leaves and lamb liver are genuinely exceptional. This, in a rural yet esoteric setting, with excellent wines and attentive service, make this one of the best restaurant addresses in the Goms valley. A gem!More

Went there for lunch while cross country skiing and for dinner a 2nd time. Both times great food. Lunch was excellent, Spaghetti with trout and wirz; plenty of food; plates were hot, perfect when eating outside; tasted great. Friendly and prompt service. Food in the...evening was good, maybe the combinations a bit adventurous. I had a beetroot risotto, bright red, :-) took a moment getting used to. Tasted very god though. The restaurants website reflects food and atmosphere well. Expensive, but good value for money. Recommended.More

This is probably the most innovative and interesting restaurant in the Obergoms (a valley above Brig that is a mecca for cross-country skiers in the winter, hikers and bikers in the summer). Klaus Leuenberger, the chef, cooks mainly with local products, mainly bio, and gives...a little extra "kick" to the typical local cuisine. The restaurant interior is what you might call winter-hut chic, very original, with a big black iron pot visible where the soup of the day is ready for serving. Whether you want a dish with meat or something vegetarian, you will be delighted with your choice.More

We are staying in Obergestelm for cross country skiing paradise and we read the great reviews for Muhle. We rode the train down for dinner and we were not disappointed. The unusual pairings of flavors were outstanding. The service was also warm and welcoming. We...will be back!More

on a trip back from Andermatt through the mountain passes of St Gothard and Nuffenen, we stopped for lunch in Geschinen in ober Goms. Totally by coincidence (just an attractive roadsign) we found the Muhle: a small and very nice chalet, decorated in simple modernist...style, just off the road. The restaurant serves dishes made with local ingredients, in very interesting combinations. You will be amazed by the variety of choices, and the creativity of the chef. Only at the very end did we make the link with the renowned St Georg in Ernen: same chef, same owner, same quality, although totally different settings in beautiful rustic settings.A very good luncheon menu, a more sophisticated dinner menu. A very nice, witty and helpful young lady provided recommendations and helped us finding excellent apricot chutney to take home. A find.More

We have visited this restaurant twice during a week long stay in nearby Munster. On both occasions the service and food were excellent. The staff are friendly and happy to help and have time for a chat and to make you feel welcome. We would...definitely come back to this restaurant again if we are in this part of switzerland again and would recommend it to anyone for an excellent meal and service.More

We enjoyed this restaurant. The food was creative and delicious. I was able to choose from several vegetarian options (other than the usual swiss cheese-based fare), and my husband enjoyed his pan-roasted beef. We especially enjoyed the interesting flavors of home-made ice cream. We were...only disappointed they closed for Christmas and we couldn't go back the next day!More
