I've been coming here for a few years and it's one of my favourite pubs in the UK. Their crab sandwich is the best anywhere (much better than another local pub that is supposedly famous for their crab sandwich). I will be going again tomorrow as a last day of holiday treat and unlike other people I will arrive before... More

Haven't been to the Ship for a few years. Visited yesterday and got to say how excellent it is. You have to book a long way in advance. Food was excellent as was service and friendliness...crab and kipper meals were just lovely. Cash or debit card only.

This pub is a gem, with fast changing range of beers all brewed on site to suit all tastes. Coffee and snacks available. The pub is clean and fresh and the service excellent. It makes apologies on a chalk board in the spotless clean toilets for the wet and sandy floors. It's on a beach next to the sea, so... More

We always make the journey to Newton by the Sea and the Ship Inn when we are in Northumberland, and especially when we walk along Embleton beach. Especially loved for its fresh Crab sandwiches and own brewed beer!

We stayed in Low Newton for the second year, partly because of the excellent meals at this pub. Al food fresh, especially the crab, and well worth the aggro of having to book. Friendly staff helps to make this a most enjoyable experience.

Located among quaint rectangle of cottages is The Ship, a pub and brewery looking over a sandy beach . Crab sandwiches, kippers, fish cakes, ploughmans with local cheese and ham and much more. None of " something n chips", wooden floors and tables, outside benches busy but quick service. Home brewed beer, pot of tea comes in a mug ....... More

Second time visiting this little gem of a bar. This was the first time partner and I decided to eat. We were fortunate enough to sit outside in beautiful sunshine enjoying the views. Ordered a crab sandwich and one ploughmans. Brown bread was stale and the side salad with the ploughman's was already browning. With a bill of just under... More

This is worth the visit as it is like stepping back in time, after a long walk along the beach it's an ideal setting for a lunch.
