Looked a warm and friendly cafe. Anything but. The incompetent waitress didn't know anything about anything on the menu! The chef that was sat in the room literally shouted across the room to us. They had very limited choice for savoury dishes. We asked for a savoury scone, as advertised, which they didn't have, the cook shouted out to us... More

After the usual wonderful costal walk nothing better than a full Cornish Breakfast cooked by Cedric.....it is the best. Vivian Old sausages and bacon, local eggs fabulous. Shame he is closed until next year, however worth the wait until 2017!

Nipped in for quick coffee between buses, and the escape the chilly wind. Very friendly place, and my flat white was as good a coffee as I've had anywhere. Shame I didn't have time or space for one of the delicious looking brownies that came out of the oven!

We had breakfast here for 7 of us and were really impressed. Good quality ingredients used and cooked very well all for around £10 a head with coffee. The service was a little on the slow side due to it being very busy (A good sign) but the waitress/owner was very friendly and apologetic. The food and coffee more than... More

If I was rating this cafe purely on the coffee it would be very good, albeit I reckon they could do with a tad larger cups. Taking the place as a whole however I thought that the food is considerably overpriced for what it is. As an example, almost six pounds for a bowl of soup (£5.80) doesn't quite work... More

When we arrived, it was tempting to have one of the lovely dishes (eg lentil curry or humus/salad and more) but as they had just taken scones out of the oven and were cooling them on a rack , it was impossible not to have a cream tea!! Good choice as the scone was delicious! Would definitely recommend this place.

Called in for lunch and after a bit of debate (there were a number of dishes I really liked the sound of) had a very good sweet potato and beetroot daal. The added goats cheese chunks on top was a great addition. Followed it with an apple and cinnamon scone which was clearly freshly baked and worked really well with... More

We stopped in St Just for lunch one Saturday, and Kegen Teg looked promising: local, independent cafe. We were not disappointed. I had carrot and coriander soup with an 'artisan' roll, which was fine. But the hit was my wife's Sweet potato and beetroot dahl, which was excellent, even to my non-vegetarian tastes. Both meals were very filling, leaving no... More
