Waited 35 mins for three baguettes and 2 bowls of chips. Two sandwiches were delicious but the tuna mayo was definitely off and smelt rank. Chips were delivered without salt or pepper and generally tasteless. Took the sandwich back and whilst the staff were polite, they seemed fairly unconcerned about the health implications of serving off fish and mayonnaise. Paid... More

Emma, I recall the incident well as was a true first (and of course a last!) on the busy Monday jus gone I can only apologise for what seemed a lack-luster approach to your baguette, but I CAN assure that it was dealt with instantly, and appropriately with the upmost concern. Two of your party use us regularly for a... More

The atmosphere on the Friday night we visited was great, relaxed, people talking and having a good time, not overcrowded or too noisy. The Harvey's I had was very drinkable as was the Guinness I was told and we had a Rioja with dinner which was very quaffable . The food is good, it's not overly complicated, the menu is... More

We had a lovely evening at the George last night. Despite being very busy Greg, the landlord fitted our group of 12 in at short notice. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff were fantastic and our food was very tasty. We had minute steaks , fish and chips and moules, followed by sticky toffee pudding, brownie, and some... More

I don't know whether we were unlucky, but our 2 meals were pretty poor. We were looking forward to our meal as it read so well online, so we travelled some 20 miles to eat here. It's nice to see that it is popular with the locals and it is a typical village pub, all good so far. We had... More

Fantastic service & food. Visited with my sister and father recently and we trusted our father to order the food at the bar. When it came out he had completely got the starters incorrect. The barman who bought the food out could see my disappointment and over heard me whisper that I don't like goats cheese (I originally requested brie),... More

We took my good lady's Father and Stepmother out to lunch as a present. We had booked and were shown to a lovely table, in the bar, comfortable and informal. The service was polite, unhurried and helpful. The food was impressive, bearing in mind the setting. Three had soup for starters, delicious and unusual (something slightly exotic with coconut), I... Fantastic! we had a party of 16 meeting up at The George, family coming from New York, Essex and Wiltshire..and Frant! Thanks to excellent communications with Greg we had a menu to pre order from, however there were some last minute changes made when we saw the Specials board! We had a warm room to ourselves and excellent and friendly... More

Booked a family meal here for 10 of us, and called in advance to check that there would be ample GF choices for my partner who has an intolerance. Must say the pub is lovely, in a beautiful setting and really cosy inside. However when the waitress brought the allergy menu over, virtually everything contained gluten. She did say a... More

Can't say enough good things about this pub (thankfully nothing like The other big pub in Frant, A.Arms!!) Myself and my daughter meet to do our uni work here every week - the staff and owner are just lovely - even let my daughter order her favourite salad that they do and take it home! Cosy, friendly and really welcoming.... More
