The food was very good but the atmosphere is what makes this place so good. All of the employees were so friendly and the tables are backed up to the forest! Highly recommend

We came for a quick late dinner, as not much was open in Big Sur when we arrived at 8:30 pm midweek. Hamburgers were fine, waitstaff lovely and full of recommendations on what to do.

We stopped in for nachos and drinks. Friendly atmosphere, good service. There is a great deck in the back but it was a little too chilly for us to enjoy.
While we didn't eat at Fernwood Grill, we did enjoy some beers on the back deck which is amongst the Redwood trees. It's a nice setting. They have some good draft beers available.
They had high hopes but food was stale and the pulled pork sliders were like pulled pork jerky sliders. We were in California and yet they only had one white wine and ewwww it was awful, really. You have the best wines in the world...More
