Been here a couple of times for an evening meal. Both times there was live music which made a seat a bit hard to find but the service and food with very good and staff work hard to find you a table. We are locals and will go back when we fancy a good evening out somewhere different. Dog friendly... More

Called in for lunch. Husband ordered ploughmans which looked very nice and cost about £8. It came with a big slab of cheese, a pork pie, ham, pickle, roll and butter and salad. I ordered salad of the day which was described as a large bowl of leaf etc. I asked if I could have it with ham and was... More

Half restaurant and half bar, but you can eat the same menu in both. Something for everyone, a traditional bar with modern dining and a decor that successfully blends the traditional and modern elements. Dogs welcomed in the bar area. The bar was busy with locals having a drink after work with a buzz of conversation and a jolly atmosphere.... More

Staying at Corran farmhouse bed and breakfast and went to the Barley Sheaf and had a great meal served by absolutely fabulous staff. Have booked a table for tomorrow night as well.

Drinks more expensive than Mevagissey harbour, which was a surprise due to its remote location. The blonde lady has a poor knowledge of dietary requirements but top marks to the young waitress who went to ask the chef to check the ingredients Tender pork loin was ordered with mash and beans. When it arrived it had the largest portion of... More

I want this to be a constructive review rather than a whingey diatribe - standard of food I had no complaints with but if you are going to charge £10/£11 for a burger and chips, for 50 pence more you could fill the plate with chips and garnish, really make this customer feel it was value for money.... no problem... We have eaten here a number of times over the years and we have found the food to be excellent and the staff friendly and accommodating. The pub is lovely and it has a beautiful beer garden. Certainly worth a visit.

On arrival at 1pm we appeared to be the only customers but the staff made us feel at home and we were eventually joined by a few others. A nice pint of local beer followed by a tasty lunch finished a pleasant hour or so.
