We visited in August with family. The resturant was quiet which suited us. The inside was a little shabby and just needs a bit of TLC. The staff were friendly and very attentive, however, the food was a different story. I ordered the fish and...chips, which looked like it had been cooked earlier and refried. It was pale and like rubber. We ordered 3 portions and the other 2 were slighly better but only half eaten out of hunger. We did offer feedback at the end of the meal and the waitress was so sorry. We were not offered a reduction on the bill, which was a little insulting, considering we spent nearly 180 and were the only ones in there. It is expensive and they really need to be producing better food. The chef should be ashamed to be sending the poor girls out to serve that. My local chippy is better at 9 euro..... I hope they can improve. I understand covid has had an impact but you expect the same quality that appears to have been on offer last year.More

A group of 8 of us had booked in to Tara Marine Restaurant for 8pm to enjoy a lovely family meal on the first night of our trip along the Shannon. At 7:45pm we were rocked by the news that our booking had been cancelled....Being right outside the restaurant we decided to knock on the door to investigate. Evalina (our waitress for the night) came out to explain that their supplier had not delivered food due to COVID-19 complications, the restaurant as a result wouldn't be open that evening and our booking hadn't been noticed until it was almost too late (hence the late notice). From the get-go all staff were apologetic, polite and did their utmost to accommodate us with the mix up. Within minutes we had a hand written menu of what dishes they could make with what limited supplies they had in the kitchen and were told they'd open the doors for us alone. We were treated excellently as staff went out of their way to rectify the early hiccup that we had completely forgotten by the end of the night such was the quality of the food and service. Robert (the chef) came out to check his improvised menu was up to par and we were happy to tell him he'd far exceeded our expectations. We will be back soon to try his full menu! We can't thank Robert, Evalina & all other staff involved for what will remain a truly memorable night for us all, a veritable 10/10More

I love this place - the food is delish and the chef and his lovely team so amazing. Particularly Louise who is very attentive and a great host! My favourite repast here are pretty much all the starters but especially the chicken liver pate, I...also adore the chicken burger but am often seduced away from this by the pizzas (which are very very good). In terms of dessert can honestly say the tiramisu is one of the best I have ever had. Am also intrigued by the wine and cheese offerings which are varied and a step above! Thank you for many fabulous meals in your lovely riverside venueMore

A very pleasant dining experience at the Tara Marina for a family celebration. The duck served on risotto was excellent, the chicken very good and the desserts delicious. We sat at a cosy open fire, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Certainly, we will...be going back.More

Second time having a great meal in Tara Marina under new management thanks to the personal approach of the chef. First time I was alone, had a seafood linguini with white wine sauce. Pasta was al dente as supposed to be. I enjoyed so much...I had to go back with the family. Although we arrived early we got served flawlessly. It’s a great location overlooking the marina. We’ll be back!More

So accommodating and so nice. The biggest helping of delicious chocolate mousse that we’ve ever...seen! Rolled out of the restaurant :)) Thank you and best of luck with your new restaurantMore
