We were staying in the allegedly recently refurbished Hotel, but didn't have dinner as it didn't serve until 10 pm, so our first venture into the restaurant was for breakfast. It is a old bodega with an arched vaulted roof, which long ago was plastered but now the damp has penetrated and the ceiling is flaking and crumbling all over.... More

I would love to have reviewed the Hotel Fonda restaurant. They had several enticing advertising/menu boards outside, but I am afraid that two days running we found the place closed. I asked the Hotel receptionist whose desk is outside the Restaurant door and was told that they are CLOSED. I had noticed that myself and perhaps a sign on the... More

Situated close to the entrance of the village, the restaurant caught our attention with the good looking salads in the menu. They offer a two-course meal The first course - the salads, stuffed avocado and gazpacho - were top notch If we would have stopped there, I would have given the place between 4-5 stars Unfortunately, we stayed for the... Near the entrance/exit to the underground car park. This is an old converted stables. Salmorejo was excellent. Meat dishes were tasty but chips were terrible.

Found a hidden gem on a Monday afternoon... Well worth the drive from jerez.... Tapas have won local awards... Wonderful flavour and originality. The gazpacho with the Serrano ham an nice bonus. The salad with octopus was tender and had a nice balance with the potatoes as well as tomatoes

I intially looked to see if there was a site for this restaurant but non existed but I felt so strongly I wanted to give this restaurant a positive review I asked TA to create a lising. We chose this restaurant because the menu on the display board looked interesting and different to the generic tapas/meals available everywhere in Arcos.... More

Description
There is a website which links to travel sites but their own website doesn't seem to be up and running. http://www.hotelafonda.com/nueva/

It was the strangest seeming place but we went early and it started to fill up as we were finishing. Two seemingly inept men were front of house but they turned out to be charming helpful and the food was superb. Much better than we'd had in other restaurants as it wasn't 'same old same old' you get in so many restaurants but rather more innovative - or do I mean traditional but not of the standards you get in so many places. A gem.
