The coffee tastes good but the cake (raspberry-yoghurt) was like eating something made out of instant mix. The environment is fantastic and they take the advantage from this...they don't try to give the best by their menu and staff, and unfortunately you can feel this.

It doesn't get much lovelier than this, with the Traun lake and the Traunstein mountain laid at your feet. Sweets are good, average food, and always worth a visit. Parking is not easy in the summer...

Usually every time I'm at home I'm visiting Baumgartner. The sweets (especially my Nut Croissant - Nusskipferl) are always really good. Sometimes quite full. In summer the quality of the ice for take away is great. You get good value for your money.

We sat here with of course a great view for a nice lunch. I personally had the Salad schloss ort (Euro 8,70) which is listed as big. But it my opinion it is not that big. And it is only salad with a little chicken. No cumcumber or anything else in that range. Service is ok but formal.

I have always considered this cafe as equal to the more famous Zauner in Bad Ischl. My most recent visit now confirms that this establishment has overtaken his master. Certainly as far as the patisserie and coffee is concerned. Chocolates for take away are also highly recommendable.

This Konditorei sits on the esplanade right at the lake and so offers great views from outside tables or through large windows inside. There are pay parking spaces right along the explanade but it's pot luck finding a free space. The inside of the cafe is nicely furnished in light wood with café style lighting and bright upholstery. We had... More

The Konditorei Baumgartner is located direct on the Traunsee and is very popular with locals and visitors. If you like cake, then this is the place for you, summer or in winter. Hot Chocolate, Iced Coffee, beer, and a range of coffees, makes this a place to stop on every visit.

Visited on a very hot, sunny afternoon. We both chose the chocolate and cherry ice cream and it was even bigger than pictured on the menu when it came. It was delicious and no other ice creams came near it in size or taste.

The only thing I can see that this place has going for it is its marvellous setting, perched over the Traunsee. The views are indeed stunning. That's where the fairytale ends. Unfortunately, our experience was most ghastly. Our order arrived sporadically over about 20 minutes and one of the drinks was completely forgotten and didn't arrive until after about 30... More

Everyone suggested we have ice cream here, it was nothing special. However, we did enjoy our dinner and appreciated the quick service.
