Phone reservation was quick, man on the line was friendly.
The restaurant looks fine considering it being a hikers place.
It was bad to see their sign that the restroom was out of order.
Service was very slow.
They brought wrong side for one of our orders and for another one of us they served the soup and the main meal at the same time.
Food was good.
At the end they brought a “bill” which had some notes on it by handwriting and a total amount.
When I asked for an official bill or at least one where I can check the amount the waiter told me that I can use the menu to check it.

Booking was difficult.
It turned out that dogs can only sit on the terrace!
We didn't even sit down, we kept walking... unfortunately

We arrived on Sunday, at the end of a long tour, and were very kindly received by the staff. The food was delicious (e.g. strapacska with sheep curd, mushroom soup). There were no other guests, it was a very pleasant experience.

Highly overpriced considering the quality of the food and the service you get. Inflexible when we asked to consider special requirements because of food allergy.

We went for a long hiking and we thought we deserved som really good food afterwards so we went to Tolgy vendeglo and we hasn't been disappointed.
The wild food was excellent and huge. Service was also faultless.

We ordered a stew with rosti. Very good dish and plentiful. Our child had the children menu which was more than enough. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We took a nice dinner in Tölgy Vendeglo. They offer a wide choice of wild meat a la carte, however, we tried "strapachka" because of recommendations. We did not disappoint: the dish was delicious. The service was quick as we were the only guests that time. We can recommend strapachka there.

In the Matra region, close to the city of Gyongyos. There's an English menu, with a great variety of local dishes. Also, there's a great Palacsinta stand right in front. Very very recommended!

If you like to eat game, you have to visit this place.
Maybe the service is a little slow, the place is small, but consider: this is a resto runned by family.

It was our second time there.
The restaurant is well situated opposite the parking in Mátraháza and it seems being run by a family.
It is a very cosy place with specialties of the Mátra region with home-made lemonade as well.
If you are in the neighbourhood, do not miss to have lunch there. You won't be disappointed.

After a nice trip in the beautiful snowy landscape we decided to try a restaurant in Mátraháza. This looked to be the only choice in the village. The place was full when we arrived, but we decided to stay and wait, although some signs anticipated it will not be the best experience. I did not really see people being happy with their food. Perhaps everyone was just trying to regenerate after a tiring day here or the weird atmosphere of the place caused this. Surprisingly my boar soup and pancakes were quite good and tasty. My wife chose grilled trout fish. This did not have a fresh scent and taste at all and contained considerable amount of oil, therefore was left uneaten. We did not want to argue about the food at all. The owners/staff expressed their disagreement in front of the full restaurant, with reasons like "it came from the freezer", and that they had sold some already that day and no one had problems. Ok, at the end the bill did not include the fish.

After a nice excursion in the woods we got hungry and entered the restaurant where we have been welcomed and found a really warm atmosphere.
The serviec was quick and excellent and so were the food and drink. All seven of us enjoyed it and I can definitely recommend it to everyone.
One "important" thing, toilets are nice and clean also!
