After we visited Orava Castle it was time to eat something so we decided to come here. Coffee was the first thing for me and it was good and strong. Then we ordered garlic soup. I was not impressed by that. Just water with cooked...garlic inside with small bread pieces and little bit of grated cheese. After that brynzove haluski. Portion was big and meal was nice. Food was served on traditionally decorated plates and the service was nice. As somebody mentioned earlier in comments in ladies toilet was no soap. When you have guests from all around the world you should be careful about that kind of stuff.More
The atmosphere looks nice but cant help the feeling of this being a tourist trap. The food really needs to improve. For slovak traditional food like halušky I recommend going somewhere else, the food had a bland taste and hardly any bryndza in it :(
Really nice food and traditional atmosphere. Highly recommended for the quality of food and the feeling at this restaurant. Unfortunately they seemed short-staffed at our visit, and consequently we waited a long time for our dessert. The waitresses were almost running back and forth between...tables and the kitchen working non-stop, hopefully that was a one off incident and not a regular occurrence.
The restaurant uses traditional hand-made ceramic crockery, which we actually liked so much we wanted to buy some, however the staff did not know where the plates were made so that wasn't possible.
Worth a visit!More
Have been here after our visit of the castle.
The service takes their time even to drop off the menus. Food is just mediocre. Service is cold. There are many much better places to eat close by. The setting is as old Slovak pub. That...might be the best thing about this place. The bathroom was missing toilet paper and soap...More
