Situated inside the old Rathaus in Plauen and decorated correspondingly, this nice restaurant with tasty dishes, like the beer goulash on the picture, is good for some business talks, as it is not much frequented and the music is very, very low.
We were a group of work colleagues planning an evening for socialising. The cellar ground floor with many niches for good conversation, the sports possibility, the meals and sevice have been all excellent. Bokking should be well in advance because of the central location within...the city.More
Heinrich's is right at the town center square, you go a few steps down under the Rathous. The curved stone walls date back to the 1300's. The food and service were some of the best we experienced in the two weeks we spent touring Germany.
The original Rathaus was built in 1382, and though the upper part went up in flames in 1548 and was replaced by the Renaissance Rathaus, Heinrich's is located in the cellar (Keller) of the Rathaus and is located within the walls of the 1382 structure....You can either eat in the historic Keller, or on tables outside on the main square. Food is excellent, service is good - and of course the Rathaus is the star (it is attached to the New Rathaus, which was built in 1904, when Plauen was one of Germany's first large cities with 128K population and its own American consulate.More
Heinrich's was an awesome surprise for a group of friends and me while we were on a road trip through Germany recently.
The outdoor seating Plauen's square gave us a beautiful setting for our meal. The wait staff were also really kind with us as...struggled to order in German.
Everyone's food was delicious and portions were reasonable. Schnitzel and chicken offerings had the highest marks from our group.
Heinrich's interior is also well worth a little of your time. Situated in the cellar/foundation of the old church, it has beautiful stonework, a charming bar, and even a two lane bowling alley!More
