Booked a table for an evening meal. Plenty of choice on the menu. Ordered the salmon with a lovely Vermont sauce and all the trimmings. Really tasty. Then had the crumble and custard which was delightful. Always enjoy meals here.Really olde worlde including the cat curled up on a seat.

I have driven past this historic inn many many times and had no idea what delights were waiting behind the door! A friend suggested meeting their for lunch today. A friendly welcome and shown straight to a table. The decor is interesting and has exposed beams and set my imagination to thinking of how it once was a 16th century... More

We booked for lunch on Mothering Sunday and even tbough they were really busy the meal and service was excellent. Thank you Anthony ,Laura ( especially. Laura for my husbands favourite the rubarb cheesecake) and staff for making the day so enjoyable. The little gift of a plant for the mothers was a lovely gesture.

Visited with my mum for an early Mother's Day lunch. The service was great, definitely not intrusive. Food was excellent. I haven't been to many places where the last mouthful was as hot as the first. Just a pity we didn't have room for dessert! Definitely worth a visit and will definitely be going back myself.

Glad we found this gem after searching for a pub which done a traditional roast dinner. Plenty of choice unlike other pubs in the area, I had pork which came with stuffing, apple sauce and incredible crackling and my hubby had the lamb which he said was delicious both came with roast potatoes and a nice selection of vegetables. Would... More

As ever a warm welcome! The menu was varied and I am sure would appeal to all tastes, the service excellent, diligent but not overpowering. The quality and presentation of our meal was up to the high level I have enjoyed ever since Anthony and Laura have run The Plough. .

Rang and booked a table for early evening. Arrived and was shown to our table. Served our drinks and given the menus and special board. Chose starters and salmon for our mains Had just enough room for coffee. Shame because desserts looked amazing. Staff were very helpful😃

Called again yesterday . Food particularly the lamb outstanding . Great service. Nice quiet atmosphere . A good alternative to the ridiculously busy pub in nearby Wessington. Recommended .

We booked for a Saturday evening in mid December. From the moment we pulled in to the car park my partner for the evening was impressed. The building is visually attractive as it sits sturdily beside the main Alfreton to Matlock road. We were shown to a table at the top of the room as the main restaurant was already... More
