Beautiful little place and a very scenic road to get there. The SPA was great despite all the Covid measures. I particularly enjoyed to swim in the outside heated pool!! The menu at the restaurant was also very good. We will be back!

Nice meal in the restaurant last night and staff were attentive, a good experience. One wee niggle the price of a house bottle of wine. Like many other establishments I don't understand the justification for charging £23 for a nice wine which is probably purchased...for considerably less.More

Thoroughly enjoyed our first post lockdown dining experience. Tilly is a star. Friendly, lovely and real personality, providing fantastic customer service. We ate the pickled mackerel and haggis bonbons to start. Then the lamb and the halibut. All very tasty. Couldn’t fault the food, but...could definitely have eaten more.More

We loved the food here which was just superb and up there with the best. I don’t know where they got the chef from but hold onto him/her! Fish gorgeous with fine sauces and vegetables. Staff so helpful and diligent.

Nice drive and a great location but we found this place to be a little pretentious. Not what it let on to be. May be because we were casual visitors and not part of the sailing fraternity. No character, it's like student refectory, little waitress...communication, food was ok but my steak was minute (no declared weight). And it wasn't cheap in fact over priced. Go to Loch Fyne restaurant instead.More

Have to admit that my first instincts weren't positive. It all looked a wee bit sterile, a bit too posh for my liking and not up my street. How wrong I was..turns out my street is longer and broader than I first thought! Overlooking a...marina squashed to the gunnels with pricey looking ocean-going vessels, Portavadie is like a resort with accommodation, caravan park, shops and eateries ..as well as a ferry crossing over to Tarbert on the road down to the Mull of Kintyre. It's quite a formal restaurant...and was busy when we visited on a weekday lunchtime. Enjoyed a quite superb haggis bon bons side dish as a starter before tucking into a £7 soup and sandwich deal...and what a deal! A large plate arrived with a warming bowl of potato and leek soup together with four generously packed butties...every crumb was devoured. Lovely, friendly staff, great food, great presentation and outstanding value. Will return for something more substantial soon. PS..don't always trust first instincts!!More

Booked on open table for an early Saturday evening meal to fit in with ferry times, arrived early and welcomed by really friendly staff. Chicken liver parfait for starters was delicious served with tasty gluten free bread rolls. Scallops and pork belly starter also really...tasty with a mild curry sauce. Steak and gigha halibut for main course was well cooked and staff very attentive. Excellent idea of having menus online rather than repeatedly printing them (although gf one was printed for me) lovely atmosphere clearly following clear COVID 19 guidelines.More

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. Excellent service, staff all well presented, smart, friendly and professional. Very prompt with drinks. Food served was excellent and of a high standard. I enjoyed the scallops and then the langoustines amazing! Unfortunately no music at the moment, which I'm...sure we would all like to be on, including the staff. But fab place, nice and cozy for November. Excellent quality breakfast served. Efficient service with a cooked breakfast and continental. Fresh produce and plenty to choose. Look forward to coming back.More

We travelled here and had booked 2 cottages to stick to restrictions applied . The cottages were lovely , had everything you needed for a break and a fully equipped kitchen, though we ate breakfast and dinner in the marine restaurant every day. Staff in...restaurant were very friendly and efficient and the bonus was our 15 week old puppy was welcome in the restaurant, and water bowl ready for us coming in ..thank you friendly staff. The spa was so relaxing and very quiet ..you had to book an hour slot but on 1 day there were only 2 of us in it. The massages were amazing as well. The whole place is very peaceful and relaxing... such a change in this covid 19 time.. cant wait to go back again !More
