I hadn't read the other reviews before going and I'm not sure what I'd have done if I had. I'd seen Mugaritz on UK Masterchef, so I knew their concept was off the wall but still wasn't quite prepared for it. A few observations: -...More

My husband and I were in San Sebastian other times and at other Michelin stars Restaurants but this one was far below our expectations. The food is awful, 25 dishes and we liked only 3 or 4 at the most. Waist of time and money,...More

Mugaritz's philosophy of challenging the perceived wisdom on fine dining is OK, in principle. The fact that you eat most of the food with your hands is fair enough. Even the hot-cold, sweet-sour, cooked-raw roller coaster is not, in itself, anything to get too worried...More

I was lucky enough to get a booking for my husband’s 50th birthday and it was one of our most memorable life experiences (not just a dining one) so far. Service was impeccable - professional yet warm and the tasting menu was a delight for...More

I had such high expectations for Mugaritz. I was in San Sebastian 5 years ago, and wasn't able to get a reservation here. So, it's always been on my bucket list to come back, and try out the restaurant. Well, I kind of wish I...More

This was one of the craziest Michelin Star Dinners I ever had. 25 courses, only select dishes to be eaten with cutlery (the rest by hand) and flavours second to none. From the execution to the presentation, every single dish had its purpose. Each course...More

This was a once in a lifetime trip to a restaurant voted number 9 in the world. Having read some of the reviews on here I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t live up to my expectations but having eaten there I now think...More

Good service initially but they did not wait if any of the group went to the bathroom. This left food going cold and the explanation of the dishes was sometimes missed out. Some great courses but too many similar dishes. Too much raw fish and...More

Read the reviews before going there so we kept our expectations pretty low. Was merely hoping to be introduced to interesting new textures and ingredients in a creative way. It was a 24-course tasting menu and here's what I thought: -Out of the 24, I...More

This place is 20 minutes out of town - virtually in the middle of nowhere . I believe it's a Michelin 2-star rated restaurant. By that yardstick it gives most international hamburger joints a half-star at the very least. The standard 25-course meal consists of...More

Yes, there is. I visited it in October of 2016 and the wine pairing was either 120 or 140 euros per person, I can't really remember.

Yes, Mugaritz can offer gluten-free options. The best time to request such is when you make your booking.
